Rev Benjamin Hurst in Geelong Advertiser 10 Jan 1842, is Wesleyan Missionary to the Aborigines of the Western District. A letter is published by the settlers EH Hamilton, A Morris, Claude Farie and Hugh Murray complaining because Rev Hurst made claims in Launceston, and is accusing them personally of shooting aboriginals, he has been 'sent to save the Aboriginals' and they want to know what evidence he had.
The following week we read that his critic, Mr Williamson, is taking action against Mr Smith
