The Best of Ellen's Stand-Up
Now, we are all familiar with Ellen DeGeneres’ style as far as how her comedy goes.  She has a very HIGH bar for what she does.  Who could blame her?  I am so glad that I am present in this day and age and I have gotten the chance to witness this comedy queen.  She is truly a gift.  I have enjoyed watching her grow as a sophisticated and conservative comedian.  She finds more ways to ‘wow’ me with her comedic skills.  Seeing how this past comedy tour is her last time doing stand-up.  I thought I would pay tribute to the comedian with an excerpt of  each of her comedy routines from ‘Taste This’ to ‘The Beginning’ to ‘Here and Now’… Take a moment with me down memory  lane from then to ‘Here and Now’….
Taste This

This was Ellen's first comedy CD.  Where she discussed such things as licking a frog, embarrassing moments, the hazards of gum disease and more! She performed this outstanding routine on her very own HBO comedy special in 1989.

The Beginning

Live from the Beacon Theatre in New York, after seven years on TV and the big screen, Ellen DeGeneres is back on stage, live, outspoken, outrageous and out. It's Ellen, back to stand-up at her most hilarious. From her secret for how to deal with forgetting people's names to the harsh realities of videotaping your sex life.

Here and Now

The versatile entertainer returns to the stand-up circuit with this May 2003 concert taped at New York City's Beacon Theatre.

With her wry wit and powers of observation on full display, DeGeneres deftly skewers a modern, consumer-oriented culture in which everything is automated and gratification is instant. She wonders what happened to procrastination as she complains about 24-hour newscasts, laziness, fast food, short attention spans, cell phones and call waiting. DeGeneres's relaxed delivery and Luddite schtick won't appeal to everyone, but her routines will please viewers disenchanted with the brash and profane comedy dominating today's stand-up.
