Background:   About seventy-five years ago, a female young adult silver dragon--Keileadonies, a cleric of Tamara--fell very much in love with a human dracolyte (refer to p.122 Draconomicon), a paladin who was a dedicated follower of Tamara and who had worked alongside the silver dragon for some time.  They married and had a deep and enduring partnership, lasting until the dracolyte finally died of old age.  From the two half-dragon offspring of that pair, a narrow family line descended, containing many sorcerers, clerics, and paladins, with a heavy emphasis on healing, destroying undead, and aiding the needy (aspects of Tamara's dogma).  Some of the dragon-descendants have spread out to distant lands, taking their healing and aid with them to places where it was most needed, but others have stayed relatively close, forming the first rudimentary stages of an official clerical order in an actual non-draconic church of Tamara under the leadership of Keileadonies.
Kirion is a great-grandson of Keileadonies (1/8 dragon blood, not enough to provide any bonuses, just enough to give him quite a nose in silver fashion).  His human father was her grandson, who married a wood elf from the nearby woods and thus produced Kirion and his younger sister Kimbri.  Kirion's mother, Nalree, was an elven commoner who grew and processed medicinal herbs.  His father, Rellaras, was a well-regarded cleric of Tamara in that developing order, a man of influence and leadership.
The village of Darstrigorn (fumbled from Draconic for "silver dragon") had grown up around the dragon-descendants, composed of extended family and friends and travelers who decided to stay, as well as some folk from far places that had been hard-hit by various disasters and needed a place for physical and psychological recuperation.  Darstrigorn lay west of Highmoon in Deepingdale, in the foothills of the Thunder Peaks; it was a meeting place for all races and social statuses, where the inhabitants' own inclusiveness was backed up by Keileadonies' emphasis on helping the needy regardless of who or what they are.
Kirion's great-grandmother had her lair atop a nearby mountain, but often descended to the town to live among the people for long (to a human) periods of time.  She rather enjoyed meeting and getting to know the descendants of her love for a "mere" human.
Unfortunately, her deep involvement in her people turned into a kind of complacency, and she was caught offguard when Thraxata (female young adult red dragon) abruptly moved into the nearby mountain called the Blood Horn.  Shortly after Kirion turned 23, he and his mother traveled into the woods, only to return home and find the entire village razed.  They rushed down into the burning ruins to look for survivors; none were found, and his mother never emerged from one collapsing building she entered to search.
Darstrigorn was no more, its people were all dead or fled, Keileadonies was dead and her lair looted.  With nothing but the gear he had been carrying and what he could bring of his mother's gear, Kirion stumbled down the road to Highmoon and collapsed in a small temple of Ilmater (his strongest affinity besides Tamara) for recovery.  His adventures--not always entirely willing--branch out from that point.

Notes:  Since his recent tragedy, Kirion's naturally gentle, stable, accommodating personality has taken a definite turn toward darker reflections, leaving him soul-sick and troubled with a rather weary smile, though he still has the desire and makes the effort to help people in need wherever he finds them.

This is the family sigil used by healers, clerics, and paladins in Kirion's line who serve Tamara.  Her symbol is a seven-pointed star on black, and the unending chain around it is self-explanatory.  When he turned twenty, Kirion made his official decision to pursue healing as a cleric of Tamara, and the sigil was tattooed on the back of each of his hands, signifying (and reminding him of) his representation of her in everything he does.  The sigil appears fairly large on the back of Kirion's cloak, and small on its left breast; when so embroidered, the chain links are filled in with silver color and the star is white.

Kirion's basic costume consists of longsleeve shirt, a vest that wraps and tucks under his belt but hangs down like a tunic, and pants, all in shades of green.  Over it all he wears a blue cloak shaded like the light of predawn just starting to touch the night sky, with the Iskaussir sigil embroidered on front and back.  His armor is of masterwork quality but otherwise ordinary, designed to resemble a silver dragon's scales; it belonged to his grandfather, who was a half-dragon paladin in Tamara's service (it's been taken in a bit to fit Kirion).  Tamara's star is engraved on the helmet and the fronts of the shoulders, and also appears on the belt buckle and the sword's disk-shaped pommel.
