Notes:  Aurith grew up in a small fishing village on the coast of Amn, raised by her human mother and stepfather and visited often by her bronze great wyrm father.  Her mother married when Aurith was eleven years old, and Aurith has several full-human younger siblings.  In her family and in their small community, she's always been more or less accepted as normal with a few quirks, and the attitudes of some people outside that largely-isolated community are something of a puzzlement to her when she begins traveling.
Because of her draconic strength, she's always held herself out of physical confrontations and contests of strength--even playful wrestling as a child--out of a desire to avoid seriously injuring someone, whether in body or pride.  That strength has been a great asset in sailing and deep-sea fishing, however, where the success of an individual is the success (and perhaps survival) of the whole team.
More than once in her life, her father has made his watchful presence known (at least to her) when he appeared as if from nowhere to save the ship she was on from pirates, sea monsters, or sudden storms.  Most people of her village simply consider Aurith to be "lucky" for a ship, because the aid is generally concealed as relatively natural events through the dragon's use of his alternate form, control water, control weather, and various spells.  While Aurith certainly enjoys knowing her father (who wouldn't want a bronze dragon for a relative?) and appreciates his occasional help, it's recently occurred to her that she's never really going to grow up until she can get away from his minorly doting influence and find out how much she can handle on her own.  So, with her mother and step-father dead of old age, she packed up a few supplies and a crossbow and headed inland by river, winding up in Triel where she quickly fell in with an odd collection of travelers who turned out to be a half-fiend, a shade, a half-ogre, and a natural wereleopard.  Finding such an assortment under peaceful conditions didn't strike her as terribly strange when compared to the fact that Triel had just fallen under the control of an illithid who didn't seem like such a bad guy at all.

Although she has no notion of it because she's never met another with her lineage, Aurith is fairly unusual among medium-sized half-dragons in that she has wings.  So far she can only glide, but she exercises them diligently in hopes of one day achieving true flight.  As she sees it, her dad can fly, so why can't she?  Meanwhile, she's found there's barrels of fun to be had with a half-ogre's size and strength, which can launch her like a paper airplane.
