Background: Born and raised in the southern kingdom of Maeltryst, Karis grew up just like most citizens there, having earth adept powers. At a very young age she began to train in different martial art styles, determined to make more of her life than a simple merchant’s daughter. Always energetic and extraordinary, she had a hard time fitting in with the laid back citizens of her homeland, until she met a young nobleman named Thalys Ol’Calien, who shared her fervor and curiosity of the world. The two grew up together, always sneaking out of the castle walls to roam the country-side, yet making sure they returned for dinner. Though they were sometimes admonished for these actions, it continued for years. Finally, Karis and Thalys were set to be married when they reached the age of 21. Thalys, however, set out on an adventure to the Wall of Liteo, promising to marry Karis when he returned. Karis finished up her martial arts and waited patiently for her fiancé to return.
