Erwin Zeidler von Görz

GM Erwin Zeidler took control of the 7. Infantry Division from FML Kasimir Freiherr von Lütgendorf in September 1914.  Zeidler maintain this position for only a month before handing it over to GM Adalbert Letovsky.  In March 1915, GM Erwin Zeidler was granted command of the new 58. Infantry Division.  He led this division for an extremely long time-all the way to July 1918, when he surrendered it to GM Bogeslaw Wolf von Monte San Michele. On 24 May 1917, Zeidler was promoted to Feldmarschalleutnant. GWS, 3/02 [rev. 3/05]
