Aurel von le Beau
Aurel von le Beau was in command of the 17th infantry division until May 1915, when he became Chief of Staff for GdI Svetozar Boroevic von Bojna who commanded the III. Army.  When this force was reorganised in the middle of the month, le Beau stayed with Boroevic and was Chief of Staff for the reconstituted V. Army on the Isonzo Front.  This remained his place until May of 1917, when Boroevic was granted command of the entire Isonzo Theatre, and so le Beau was appointed Chief of Staff for the Isonzo Army under the command of GO Wenzel von Wurm. In August 1917, Boroevic recalled le Beau to be Chief of Staff for the whole Isonzo Theatre, Army Group Boroevic and it changed little for the next six months.  Clearly, le Beau and Boroevic worked well together.

In January, however, the establishment of the Piave as the front changed the circumstances for the Army Group, and le Beau was given a personal command once more, that of the 55th Infantry Division, taking it over from FML Prinz zu Schwarzenberg.  Toward the end of October 1918, le Beau assumed command of the XV. Corps, filling in for GdI
Karl Scotti.
