Thank you for your interest in the Ultimate FFL.
This will be the eighth year for Ultimate FFL. Besides the regular fantasy football, here are some of the "extra" features of this league:
Draft Lottery - Similiar to the NBA's draft, each team will receive a number of "ping-pong balls". I will hold a draft lottery to allow teams to pick their draft position. Initially, the number of ping-pong balls each team receives is awarded based on the previous season's standings. In addition, teams can earn extra ping-pong balls by winning these extra contests:
Six Questions - Each week, I pose a series of questions, asking for predicitions on the upcoming weekend's games. Simple questions like "Who will score more fantasy points this weekend: Alge Crumpler or Jeremy Shockey?" I'll add up all the correct answers and the team with the most at season's end will earn 7 extra ping-pong balls.
Tiebreaker Question - Along with the 6 Questions, there is also a tiebreaker question, such as "Which player drafted in round 10,11, or 12 in our draft will score the most fantasy points this weekend? I keep a running total of each person's answers and the team with the highest total tiebreaker score earns an extra 6 ping-pong balls.
Matchups - Vote for which fantasy football teams you think will win each week. The team with the best predictions earns an extra 6 ping-pong balls.
Shoulda Started - Each Tuesday, I post the dubious Top 10 - Shoulda Started. A shoulda started is when an owner had somebody on the bench who outscored the starter. The team that appears on the Shoulda Started list the least often will earn an extra 4 ping-pong balls.
Preseason Predictions - In the preseason, make predictions about which NFL teams you see in the playoffs and winning the Super Bowl. The team with the best predictions earns 4 extra ping-pong balls.
Best Late Draft Pick - Near the end of the season, all owners will vote for which player was the best late round draft pick. The team who selected the top vote-getter earns an extra 3 ping-pong balls.
Keepers - Each team keeps a total of 4 players from their roster into the next year. One of those players must be a "developmental keeper". A developmental keeper is defined as a player who does NOT start for any team throughout the fantasy year.
