PARENT PAGE
Dear Parents,
As we move through the school year, we want to share some hints and tips for helping your child in their quest for knowledge.

Attitude is a large part of getting kids excited about school!   You can practice getting up early for about a week.  We will start classes at 8:00 a.m.  Let them help in purchasing their "school supplies".  Making the "back to school" preparations special helps them transition from their care-free summer days.

Talk with your children about what to expect during a typical day.  Sure, it's exciting!  Some of the children will be moving to a new teacher/class, but prepare them for the reality of waking up early, rushed mornings, the discipline of sitting at desks or tables, and being responsible for getting their work done.

While we do not actually assign "homework", we do appreciate when families work together to support emerging literacy skills and practice basic skill building.  We want to encourage parent involvement.  In order for children to become ready for school, children should come to school "ready to learn"!  While we appreciate your help at school, "parent involvement" also means assuring that children have:

*safe, nuturing clean homes
*nutritional food and health routines
*secure loving relationships
*appropriate clothing for weather conditions
*daily routines that include adequate balanced amounts
of time for structured learning, play and rest
*opportunities to learn, be appreciated and shine in a variety of ways

While attending school events are important, remember that PARENT INVOLVEMENT occurs every day!
REMINDER
Please try to have your child to "school" by 8:00 a.m. so that they don't miss any of our
fun activities!
