VCU uPDaTe WeEk 9 – Games Ending November 2, 2008
EAGLES RISING.
The Eagles defense suffers occasional
lapses, such as the first play from scrimmage when they gave up a 90-yard TD to
the Seahawks, but by and large they look like a very solid and reasonably
consistent unit. The offense, however,
is maddening. Moments of explosion,
such as the Rams and Cowboys games, and then inexplicable stretches of Doug
Pederson incompetence, such as the beginning of the game against the
Seahawks. Plenty of talent, but the
game planning is, ummm, puzzling.
Anyhoo, the oddsmakers have the Birds favored by three over the Gnats! Great Sunday Nite showdown.
HEY, HOW ABOUT THEM PHILS?
What more can be said about the best team in baseball? I feel a little bad for Adam Eaton, who
(unlike Kyle Kendrick and Rudy Seanez) was not invited to the parade. And Mike Arbuckle, cleaning out his desk as
the parade was under way! And Steve
“Windmill” Smith, fired by new GM Ruben Amaro.
As much as we love Pat the Bat, it probably is time for him to move on.
NOOB ON TOP.
Who is this Jason Scarpello guy, and how long can he stay atop the
standings with his motley assortment of teams?
Will the playoffs be his undoing, or will he score a rookie win?
