Committee (VI 1b):After
an audit is
made,
the books are to be brought to the Board
Meeting
for Board Members to examine.

C.Membership
Committee (VI:1c):
1.The
board shall appoint a membership
chairperson; the chairperson may select
as many committee members as desired.
2.It shall be
the responsibility of the
membership committee to distribute,
receive and process applications for
membership in the Club.
a.The
committee is responsible for
maintaining a supply of membership
applications at all regular meetings, as
well as copies of the Club’s
Constitution/By-Laws and Standing
Rules/Policies.
1)The application form shall direct
the applicant to return it to the
Membership chairperson.
2)The application form shall con-
tain an area where verification of
attendance as a guest is to be
indicated.(This may be verified
when the form is given, or with
the Recording Secretary at a later
time). b.Upon
receipt of an application from a
prospective member, the membership
chairperson shall perform the
following:
1)Return, with a note of explanation
any form which is not complete.
2)When a form is not received by
the deadline for that month, send
the applicant a note, explaining
that the application will be held
until the following regular meeting
3)If the form is properly completed
and received, verify it’s eligibility
according to the applicant’s
residency status.
a)The chairperson must possess
a current Ventura County
street map.
b)The chairperson must
maintain an up-to-date
membership roster,
divided into in-county and
out-of-county members.
c)The chairperson must
maintain an on going tab-
ulation of the 80:20 resi-
dency ratio of members. 4)Upon
determination that a mem-
bership application is eligible,
notify the Recording Secretary of
the name and address of the pros-
pective member within sufficient
time for a meeting notice to be
sent.
c.The Membership Committee is respon-
sible for introducing the prospective
member at the next regular meeting
and for conducting the first and second
readings of the application.(The
application is to be filed with the
Recording Secretary, according to
Article II:4). 3.At
he conclusion of balloting in a member-
ship election, it shall be the responsibility
of the Membership chairperson to receive
the vote count from the tellers and to
verity that the prospective member has
received affirmative votes from 3/4th of
the Club members present and voting (as
per Article II:4).
a.The chairperson shall inform the
Chair
of the meeting whether or not the
prospective member has been elected
to membership.
b.The Chair of the meeting shall
announce the result of the election. 4.It
shall be the responsibility of the
Membership Committee to give the new
member a membership packet at the
conclusion of the meeting during which
the election was held.If a new
member
is not in attendance, the membership
packet shall be mailed within the week.
(Contents of the packet are listed in the
Standing Rule pertaining to membership. 5.The
Membership Committee shall be
aware that “the privileges of a new, regular
member shall begin at the next regular
meeting after his election to membership.
