2009 Virginia Beach Soccer Showcase |
Showcase sputters to a close with a pair of games in Norfolk The 2009 Virginia Beach Soccer Showcase, originally set for 10 games over two days, has been reduced to four games total as it came to a close. Following yesterday's rainouts and the continuation of inclement weather in Hampton Roads, games were CANCELLED at Kellam and First Colonial. Two games did take place related to the Showcase but outside of city limits as Maury High School hosted a pair of matches Saturday on its FieldTurf facility at Powhatan Field in Norfolk. Mills Godwin put West Potomac away 4-0 while Blacksburg and Maury battled to a 2-2 draw. Cox, First Colonial, First Flight, Kellam, Norfolk Academy, and Princess Anne will not see action today with the Falcons and Nighthawks at least getting some playing time yesterday. |
