Iguanas Who Lived with Us

This is Drago and my dad. Drago was 10 years old here and when he discovered he was put up for adoption, he was in a mood to start removing human fingers till he was returned. Iguanas do not like change and being given up for adoption usually results in a short depression. Babysitting Drago was a most interesting weekend. Drago was recently adopted by the Ripley's Museum in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

This is Rex and Monica. Monica adopted Rex and moved to Philadelphia. Monica is a teacher who teaches her students to be iguana activists. Mom misses Rex, but I don't.
Guido is an example of an iguana with stunted growth due to a poor diet. This 10 year old iguana is only 2.2 pounds. We picked up Guido from the Virginia Beach SPCA and drove him to Triangle Iguana Rescue in North Carolina, where he is still up for adoption. Guido is very territorial about his cage, but I quess I would be too if I spent several nights in a pet carrier at the SPCA.
