TO BHMA
                 Those Groovy Greeks

They Had a System
           Techniques for Achieving Goals

Did you know that your child can sing and dance the
ABG's ??  SIGNET students learned the Greek alphabet at the beginning of our unit on Language Systems. The singing and dancing has been an added learning experience for all of us.

We will continue to study these famous thinking stars of Ancient Greece,  and their impact on our literature, drama, art, and music.

If you didn’t get a chance to come to our last Family Night, you missed seeing the wonderful city-state projects the students completed in the unit on Government Systems. Students made personal connections as they examined the  influence  this early civilization had on our lives in modern Virginia. The Presidential Election alone was enlightening. So sing along with your child as we continue our studies and take our problem solving skills to new heights.

This the month ends information meetings regarding Middle School Specialty Programs.
Check with your school’s counselor if you have further questions and don’t forget to keep your eye on the deadline for applications.  Once the application deadlines have passed, it is too late to change your mind.

With the New Year always comes the   resolution to do better. One thought we would like to pass along is the subject of healthy snacks.  As the holidays came upon us,  we began to notice that the nutritional quality of some of our students’ snacks deteriorated.  Chips, candy bars, and other greasy or highly sugared snack items are NOT appropriate.  Students are free to eat as
they work during the independent research time, but snacks need to be healthy and neat so as not to interfere with student  work.
