One
of several songs from the silent movie 'The Violin Fantasy'
"
Vanessa-Mae's techno-acoustic version arose as the result
of a challenge from German electronics company Siemens
to create a dynamic piece of music both to launch their
"Be Inspired" campaign for the new SL10 cellular
telephone. At the time she happened to be working on Tartini's
fiendish music, and it stuck her that the opening 'devil's
trill laughing theme' as well as the famous 'devil's trill'
section of the piece, with it succession of double trills,
bore an uncanny resemblance to a telephone ring. After
an intense studio collaboration with award-winning producer
Youth and Jaz Coleman, Vanessa-Mae delivered her arrangement
which successfully marries Tartini's thematic ideas and
wild trilling with a host of unusual contemporary sounds."
