HELLO AND WELCOME

My name is Steve van der Linde and I am living in Pretoria South Africa.
I have racing pigeons because I love them with a passion.
I realy think that the pigeon is a special species.

A FEW PIGEON BASICS:

Train them the things they ought to know best....
Teach them to fly from their earliest days...
Let them know you love them...
Give them clean food and water on time...
Keep them healthy... Enough training and rest...

I have learned that good and healthy lofts
and sound loft management are important.
Remember this: A Super Ace pigeon breeds a Super Ace pigeon.
Example: Our Swart Putt cock was Union Ace Pigeon as Y/B then went on to breed 6 winners for Kas!
A newcomer to our studd (March 2006) is a son of Tinktinkie
whom bred 11 Union winners in 4 years (Plus Ace pigeon in Union)
Make sure you have the best pigeons you can get.
With a bit of extra elbow grease they will make you very happy,
and let you walk around with a sparkle in the eye!!!!

There is something I call: 'to be on a mission with the task at hand'.
I have watched pigeons, the ones that are concentrating
and are committed to the task at hand,
they will also fly with that commitment and breed those qualities.

I do like good body muscle, a nice strong level wing and strong back.
The feeling of holding an aerodynamic projectile in the hand.
When they are put together correctly,
they fly with the least wind resistance and effort.

Other Interests:

My other hobby is fine art in oils (realism)
Corel reefs and Awesome Woods, and 'The Big Five' are my favourites,
however beautiful seascapes,
sunsets and snowcapped mountains turns me on as well.

To any beginner: Hope you enjoy my FAQ.
Thanx to Jan Malan for the photos of some of my birds that I show here.

A special thanx to my brother Kas
for letting me have some of his very best pigeons
and for taking the pictures of the pigeon eyes.
