Membership
Anyone 18 or above is eligible to join a Toastmasters club.
Membership dues at Valley are $18.00 per quarter.
One-half of that goes to the International organization for your membership
in Toastmasters International. The other half is allotted for club operating
expenses. There is a one-time new member fee of $16 charged by Toastmasters
International and $12 charged by the club, which covers the cost of your
start-up materials.
The one time new member fee provides new members with Toastmasters'
Communication and Leadership Manual (C&L), we refer to it as the
basic manual. It contains the first ten communication projects, a series
of stepping stones leading to effective public speaking.
The basic manual provides specific objectives of
each speaking project that contribute to the development of abilities to
express oneself clearly.
Members also receive Toastmasters' colorful monthly
magazine, The Toastmaster, which is always full of tips and articles
on numerous communication concerns.
