Welcome to the Valley Newcomers Club of McAllen, Texas and surrounding areas, including Mission, Edinburg, Weslaco and Harlingen. The Newcomers Club is an organization who welcomes new residents to the Rio Grande Valley.  Our goal and purpose is to support you in your new community and city.

Our Newcomers Club was started in 1989 and is a non-profit, non-discriminatory social club.  Joining Newcomers is an excellent way to meet other new arrivals to the area.  We have a monthly fun meeting and social gatherings that enable us to get better acquainted in a relaxed atmosphere.  We all know how difficult it can be moving to a new area!

Activities of the Newcomers Club are organized and directed by an all-volunteer board that is elected annually.  The Club has approximately 15 Interest Groups of various types and styles to fit everyone's needs.  These Groups meet throughout each month, making it possible for smaller groups of women to join together, share common interests, get to know one another, and to just have some fun.  You will find the list of all of the Interest Groups in our monthly newsletter.  Included in the Newsletter is a monthly calendar showing the dates and times for all events.  This provides you with a "memory-jogger" so you don't miss out on those activities you want to participate in.

We know you will find the Newcomers Club just the right mixture to provide you with an easy and comfortable transition to the area.  Your involvement in the Newcomers Club will provide continued strength and support for those other newcomers who follow you. Here is your opportunity to become a part of a growing and thriving community, develop new and lasting friendships and enjoy the fellowship of other newcomers.  We welcome you to the Valley and look forward to meeting you soon.
