Bread and plates, forks, napkins and cups will be provided. PROGRAM Guest Speaker Do Mi Stauber will present a program entitled A Taste of Colored Pencil. VCG GENERAL MEETING The theme for the October calligraphic challenge project is “Fall”. PROGRAM REUSE TO REDUCE AND RECYCLE with Heidi Stolp. Heidi will share ideas about creative ways to "reuse" common materials to celebrate and care for our natural world. We will compile individual lists of ways each of us can make a difference in our environment, then use our lists as an inspirational base to create calligraphic artwork. BRING a quote or phrase to share about recycling, "going green", or the wonder of nature. Also bring a pencil and paper for note taking. |

VCG GENERAL MEETING PROGRAM Kay Beckham will present: BLACK (& WHITE) MAGIC: GET CREATIVE WITH GESSO. Kay will demonstrate using white and black gesso for creating dynamic backgrounds for lettering.. BRING: a small container (the size of a film canister) to take home some gesso. |

VCG GENERAL MEETING 6:30 p.m. at the University of Oregon Knight Library. PROGRAM A Calligrapher's Evening at the Special Collections, University of Oregon Knight Library. VCG member and UO Manuscripts Assistant Marilyn Reaves will host members and guests at a special evening looking at historical manuscripts housed at library. Because this is after hours, be ready to enter between 6:25 and 6:35 pm. There will be lockers for you to secure your personal belongings. Only pencils and paper will be allowed into the collection.
