Nathaniel Lucas Conway
Nathaniel Lucas was born on February 17, 2002. He lived an all too short 16 days and passed on March 5, 2002. He was born with a recessive genetic disease called Pena-Shokiers Syndrome. This disease affected his nervous pathways, leaving him unable to move as a baby should. Due to his lack of movement in utero, he was unable to breathe well. Eventually his little body just tired out. We held him in our arms, at our home as he joined the angels. Including his sisters Abigail and Emma, lost to still birth and miscarriage, respectively.
This is our Nathaniel; less than 12 hours old. He was on a ventilator for a short time. Sweet babe. Nathaniel, rarely opened his eyes. Here he is peaceful.
Nathaniel and his Mommy, Valerie. The harness on his little body, were to stabalize his femurs, which were broken during delivery. Also a result of lack of movement.
Look at me! My nurse wrapped me so nice and snuggly in a blankie made special just for me!
I was having a little bath. This was not my favorite thing to do.
I loved to be held.
