HEY YOU!!!  

No - not the Quireboys song!!!  I just wanted to grab your attention!  This is where I appeal to you!

Are you in a band?  Do you wanna see yourself in a future issue of Vagabond Hearts but don't know how?  Well, it's easy.  Just follow these simple guidelines:-

The Editor's decision is final as to what makes each issue but as a rule, bands of the gothic, glam, sleaze, punk and rock genres are rarely turned away.  However, if your band doesn't fit these categories, don't be discouraged - we have an open mind in Vagabond land but of course, suitable bribes are always a plus!!  If in doubt, feel free to email me outlining a brief description of your band before sending me any of your stuff. 

Demos are never just ignored or discarded, I know how much effort, time and money goes into producing one so who am I to just toss it into the nearest bin?  Whilst I try and feature everything that comes my way, there are obvious types which I steer clear of - nineties chart-type pop music, death, doom, reggae and rap music will not usually appear in Vagabond Hearts.   This isn't just because the styles don't appeal to me - even though as a rule they don't, but the way I see it is that if your band does suit these categories, there are plenty of other mainstream publications who will be itching to put your name in print.   Leave valuable Vagabond Hearts space for the less represented scenes!

Ideally, bands should send a copy of their latest CD/demo for review, a good quality photograph and a press pack (if you have one).  Also, I know it sounds silly but please include a contact address where I can reach you.  I have a pile of stuff from cool bands who I'd love to feature if only they'd sent me their details.

Finally, please remember that Vagabond Hearts is a fanzine created by myself to help promote the music I love.  No payment can be made to any bands or contributors but all the bands interviewed or featured in the reviews section and anyone who submits an article which is printed will receive a free copy of the issue they appear in.

Do you fancy yourself as a writer?  Would you like to contribute to Vagabond Hearts?  Again, the same guidelines as above apply.  Playlists, classic album reviews, tribute articles, gig, demo and CD reviews can all be submitted either via email or snailmail.  Snailmail copies should be either typed or written clearly and legibly.       

Is that elusive record that you desperately want still proving difficult to find?  Have you some records/merchandise that you no longer want?  Why not place an ad in Vagabond Hearts Trading Post - buy, sell or swap.
