Dear University of Virginia Alumni:
The University of Virginia has always played a special
part in my life. Having grown up in Richmond, just an
hour from the Grounds, I can't remember a time when I
did not want to go to school there.
Now, more than four years removed from my days as an
undergraduate, my loyalty to the school has only become
stronger. Fortunately, I am not alone. The school pride
exhibited by Virginia Alumni is unmatched, and the work of
the UVa Alumni Association and its members is a big
reason why.
Florida boasts a total of 10 Virginia alumni clubs across
the state, however, not one is located within Central
Florida. During the two years I have lived in Orlando, I
have met only a handful of Virginia alumni, which
is surprising, considering Alumni Association records
indicate more than 400 UVa graduates living in the area.
My Goal is to create a University of Virginia alumni club
here in Central Florida. While this is sure to take a good
bit of work, I am anxious to get started. The first step is to
get an accurate count of active alumni, and, from this list,
establish a group of officers. Once this is done, we can
start to plan our events.
I hope you are excited as I am to establish this Virginia
alumni club in Central Florida. If you have any questions,
