Holy Grail's Olde English Miniature
Babydoll Southdown Sheep
We are located in the sunsets of West Mountain in Payson, Utah where the Holy Grail Farm is our quest for the good life.  After raising a wide variety and assortment of livestock we fell in love with an now concentrate on raising Olde English Miniature Babydoll Sheep which originated in  the Southdown Hills of Sussex County, England and are an ancient breed and the oldest known purebred sheep.
They are only 24" tall when mature so they are perfect for clearing weeds in orchards or vineyards as they cannot easily reach the trellised grapes or tree branches and they do not  girdle the treese while their little hoofs help break up the soil instead of compacting it. While doing this they provide an organice alternative to mowing and pesticides all the while improving the soil with their manure.
Olde English Miniature Babydoll Southdown Sheep are usually white, but there are also brown and black ones. Their fleece is in the class of cashmere, 10-22 microns. It has more barbs per inch than any other wool types which makes it a great blend with either angora rabbit or angora goat.
They are not aggressive and are easy to handle so with their cute teddy bear faces and diminuitive size they easy to fall in love with and are a pleasure for the small hobby farmer or sheep enthusiast along with being a great investment opportunity.
They are good mothers and often twin or have triplets and make wonderful companion animals. They do not suffer from many of the ailments of modern sheep and have nice resistance to foot rot.   Olde English Miniature Babdoll Southdown Sheep are on the Rare Breeds Survival Trust List.
We like to place our lambs when they are just barely old enough to be weaned so they can bond to their new families. In working towards a first class fiber farm Johnie made us a wool pick to help   in processing the wool and we offer these for sale also.
