Personal Bio

(August 12. 2001)  I stepped off the USS Cook on July 4, 1967 and that was the last time I saw her.  Thirty four years ago.  Through the years, I have wondered how my friends on the Cook  have fared in life. My own life has had its ups and downs. During my time aboard the  Cook, I was very interested in photography; and took countless photos. Unfortunately, I lost all but a couple in a bad divorce. The photos were gone and my memory was dim.

The computer has opened new levels of communication. Since I began using this thing, I've  searched for information about the Cook. Until recently, I could  find little mention of her.  It was as if she had never existed. I decided to use my skills   to make her a home on the internet. This is a  search for her former crew and an attempt to write her entire history.

Originally, It was just a web site.  Since then, I have become aware of other ships' crews, who have formed Associations, and who have reunions.   This is a real possibility in the future.  I now have a format for a quarterly newsletter, and I am seeking others, who would like to become involved in the formation of an Association.  Please let me know if this appeals to any of you.

This site is for all Cook Sailors. Please send me your names, pictues, sea stories, and memories of her movements and history. Help put the USS Cook APD 130 on the map of Naval Ships where she belongs.
