My name is Ramzi Abed, and I'm the founder, as well as the writer, director, editor, and co-producer of many of the Bloodshot Pictures productions. I directed my first serious film (all of the stuff I did in film school was too anarchic, and will not be shown to anyone) in 1998 (production ran one weekend in November of 1997, in Encino, CA), an award-winning short film entitled, "Nobody", which went on to screen at over a dozen festivals. It can be seen at ALWAYS INDEPENDENT and O1FILMS.COM!
I, then, went on to create a triptych of experimental short films, "Three", which went on to win an "Independent Filmmaker Award" at the 1999 Fort Worth Film Festival. The third installment in the triptych was a film I directed called "Waking". "Waking" played by itself at the Dallas Video Festival 2000 as one of the four "People's Choice Award" winners.

"The Interview" screened to packed audiences at the 2000 Fort Worth Film Festival, where it was nominated for the "Best Short Subject" award, and garnered the attention of special guest, John Waters, who left with vhs copies of my short films.
"The Interview" just screened at the 2000 Deep Ellum Film Festival on November 18th to an ecstatic/scared crowd of movie-lovers. At the festival, I met Tom Gilroy (Director of "Spring Forward" and super nice guy), and he was sincerely interested in the film work we were doing. Other special festival attendees including Griffin Dunne (actor, producer, director,genius) , John Pierson (brilliant and funny producer, critic, and host of IFC shows like Split Screen), and Elias Merhige (Director of "Shadow of the Vampire" and "Begotten") all left the festival with at least one of my films.
Whether they wound up watching my films or liking them...now, that's another story.

This site is still under careful construction and forensic study, but once we get all of the bullets out, and drink all of the blood that's spilled, we'll be ready for ya'!
