Welcome to the home site of Purgatory. We're a four piece rock band but I can't really find a genre to put us into, it's hell to try!! Anyway, look around and tell us what you think of anything in our guestbook. Oh and read cRASH! It rocks!.

Purgatory in the studio!

Yes, we did it, we recorded and we survived. It's now evolved from a 6track EP to an 8track LP!! Mark is a deadly producer but now we're done with the studio, he's goin' to pour over the songs and master them.
There are a lot of ideas at the moment for gigs in Charleville so you might just get to see us live somewhere close to you.

The Ba
nd;
Purgatory is made up of four members, each dedicated and committed to the band. The frontman, with vocal and lyric duties is Denis O Gorman. The amazingly skilled guitarist, weilding his V, Warlock and strat is Enda Buckley, the poptastic string thudding bass lines are the work of Frank O Connell, while the tribal, trance beats of drummer Stephen Rea will, take your soul to Purgatory. The band are tight live and have wowed audiences in Limerick, Cork and Charleville?? Anyway with influences ranging from, Led Zeppelin to Metallica, the Chilli's through to Gallagher, Hendrix and Slayer, the band has a unique sound, one, which deserves greater attention.

Purgatory CD's;

Purgatory have put out some cd's in the past but all of these were home produced by Enda. When we record our EP we'll have something hopefully of much better quality then of previous ventures. To date cd's include,

Heroes Of A Bitter Faith;
Largely unknown 12track album.

Mantra;
Short cd recorded for Underground Sounds.

Red Mist; 10track cd for Underground Sounds2.

Live in UL;
Amazing 12track Live album recorded by Mark Marshall in Scholars a few months ago.

There were also a lot of demos put together, some of which got into circulation, one in particular was a three track demo with 'Hope,' 'Farewell,' and 'What Could've Been.

Also our 8track studio LP. 'Heroes Of A Bitter Faith,' yup it's professional, so now what happens.!
This is Purgatory!

Purgatory's bid for heavenly rock career;
Purgatory is a young Charleville band gaining prominence in the world of rock music and have won a recording session following their being placed second in the battle of the bands competition au University of Limerick in November. The four young musicians, Denis O Gorman, Stephen Rea, Frank O Connell and Enda Buckley, who make up Purgatory are all past or present pupils of Charleville CBS and they write their own songs, gaining inspiration from their various musical influences and incorporating them in their own compositions . To date [A little outdated!] the band have played four gigs in Charleville under the auspices of the Charleville Rock Movement, for young emerging bands, twice in Limerick one of one preformances, being in the band competition, whcih netted them the recording session. With regard to the latter the band will go into a recording studio on January 26th to record their EP. entitled 'Heroes Of A Bitter Faith,' under the guidance of producer Mark T. Marshall. The latest gig played by the band was at the Lodge in Ballyhea, Charleville where they shared the bill with another very popular Cork band Fred, and again they gave a very good account of themselves, thus futher enhancing their growing reputation as a band to watch in the future.
Purgatory have just recorded with Mark O Connor at the Balls Of Iron Studios in Limerick, 'what could have been....' has been produced for the blast beat comp. cd.

Regarding the future of the band, our next main aim is to possibly secure a record deal with our LP. This means a lot of PR work and many gigs. I realise that although this is achievable, it will take time. As a result Purgatory will handle slight distrubution of the cd until we can find a label with nessecary expierence of distrubution. If any Purgatory fans, want to purchase a cd, or even help with PR work, posters, reviews, etc. let us know. Also we urge our few fans to let us know how we can improve our live shows and our web-site.
Purgatory play the Half Moon Theatre in Cork city on Oct31st, Halloween!! Shall be lots of fun, more details as I have them.
Purgatory would like to wish good luck to Mark Marshall as he goes to Canada
Best of luck, have a bright future.
