Some STDs
Chlamydia -A dangerous STD for the fact it usually has no symptoms. Symptoms if present include abnormal genital discharge, burning urination. Women can experience abdominal pain during intercourse, and men swelling or pain in the testicles.

Treatment: can be cured with antibodies, but it can not undo the damage that already has been done

Gonorrhea -One of the most frequently reported STD. Symptoms include discharge from the penis, vagina or the rectum. There may also be burning or itching during urination. 40% of victims contract PID, and if not treated can lead to sterillity.

Hepatitis B -There is a vaccine, but no cure for it. Symptoms are, fever, headache, muscle aches, fatigue, loss of appetite, vomiting and diarrhea.Also it can cause cancer of the liver. Symptoms of the liver include dark urine, abdominal pain, yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes.

Treatment: No known cure. Most infections clear up, but some are chronically infected.

Herpes -Very painful, it can be treated but there is no cure. Symptoms include itching or burning sensation, pain in the legs, buttocks, or genital area, blisters or sores in the genital area, buttocks, anus, thighs and almost anywheres else.

Treatment: there is no cure, but a drug that reduces outbreaks.

HIV/AIDS -Is the sixth leading cause of death in young men and women. This virus is fatal and painful. Symptoms include flu like symptoms, and dissapear within a week to a month. It can remain dormant for yeats, but continues to weaken the immune system.

HPV & Genital Warts -Is the most common virus of all. 33% of women have it, and it can lead to cervical or penile cancer as well as genital pain.Symptoms include, painful warts on and inside genitals, anus and throat.

Treatment: no known cure, but warts can be suppressed by chemicals, freezing, lasers and surgery.

Syphilis -If left untreated it can lead to serious damage of the brain and the heart. Symptoms include, sores that are painless, usually on the genitals but can appear anywhere. Rash, fever, sore throat, hair loss and swollen glands are also other symptoms.

Treatment: can be cured with penicillin, damage done can not be helped.

Trichomoniasis -Is the most common curable STD in young women. Symptoms include, foamy discharge, difficulty or pain in urination and/or intercourse, vaginal pain, itching. For men, inflammation of the urethra, glands or foreskin.

Treatment; can be cured with antibacterial medication.
