The first fire company in 1902. This building was on the site where my house is today.
Looking down towards the Firehall from the Whitehorse Pike.
In 1907, the wooden structure was torn down and a new brick building was started. Finished in 1908, this postcard shows the Firehall, with the bell, sitting next to a dirt road. There are trolley tracks in the road for the trolly that ran from Camden to the Clementon Amusement park.
1916 brought the modern age with a firetruck replacing the horse drawn carts. The middle door is still the original arched style.
The 1920's brought a bigger truck and the need to make the door bigger. This first revision replaced the arch with a small set of doors on a roller track.
During the 40's a rescue boat and rescue truck were added. They were feeling the pains of a building that was to small and knew they would have to add on soon.
