Robert Stanek Supporters Getting Involved and Making a Difference in Read Across America, Freedom of Information Day and Grassroots Campaigning for National Day of Recognition

Project Ruin Mist, a group dedicated to promoting the works of author Robert Stanek and the Small Press in America, is urging librarians to nominate The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches for the American Library Association Best Books for Young Adults Award.

According to Project Ruin Mist, Robert Stanek is one of the most important American authors today. The group is sponsoring Stanek's books for Read Across America and is promoting March 18 as The Kingdoms and Elves of the Reaches Day.

According to Project Ruin Mist it's because the books are entertaining, educational and from a remarkable author -- a person who is a highly distinguished veteran, a strong supporter of schools, libraries and reading, and a true American hero. Stanek's books teach life lessons and values that are important. The books are creative and imaginative with surprising depth. And Robert Stanek would be the first to admit the books aren't perfect -- rather they are the best they can be with the resources available.

Project Ruin Mist is asking everyone, young and old alike, to support one of America's own. Putting action to words, Project Ruin Mist proposes March 18 as The Kingdoms and Elves of the Reaches Day -- a day to celebrate Robert Stanek's The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches in classrooms, libraries and homes, and recommending that June be declared as America Reads Robert Stanek Month.

Project Ruin Mist proposes that Robert Stanek's books be featured during Read Across America, an event developed by the National Education Association to promote reading (www.nea.org/readacross), to kick off the June event. Project Ruin Mist is also sponsoring Freedom of Information Day (www.ala.org/washoff).

MAGIC LANDS AWAITS THE BIG SCREEN

"Delightful storytelling has always been a key part of the magic in every Robert Stanek installment but I think he went to an entirely new level once again. The dreamy style sweeps readers away to an enchanting world and you feel like you are there every step of the way. Only the big screen will improve upon the magic," says Jeannie Kim, Reagent Press, on the approach that underpins the novella and the screenplay from the highly successful author.

Robert Stanek says, "It's wonderful to see this project come together. I couldn't have done it without all the fans."

Official Ruin Mist Merchandise: Gifts And Collectibles Now Available

Reagent Press has been inundated with rights requests, including those for film/tv, foreign and audio rights ever since the publication of Keeper Martin's Tale in early 2002. So far this indie publisher has gone it alone, forging strategic partnerships selectively, and continuing to move slowly. New for Fall 2003, the indie outfit is launching a complete line of Ruin Mist merchandise for fans of the books and anyone else looking for great gifts, collectibles and memorabilia.

Gifts, collectibles and memorabilia all have artwork designed by Robert Stanek. Items available include:     Posters with 11x17, 16x20, and 23x35 poster prints.  Framed artwork with original art prints.  T-shirts, baseball jerseys, men's tank tops, and women's tops.  Collectible coffee mugs, beer steins, and travel cups.  Hats, caps and visors.  Greeting cards and post cards in sets of 6 or 8.  Decorative tiles and tile boxes.  Tote bags and mouse pads.
