Album Rate: 3.5 out of 5 Stars

Sheldon Davis aka Nat hails from Jacksonville & has been gettin radio play with four #1 singles in FL. His solo 17-track debut album on his label, Natalac Records features J.V. & Uno aka Unknown.

1. Interview On The Street-- intro skit with Nat sayin you should buy his album for the lyrics more than the beats cause if you only wanted beats, go buy an instrumental album

2. Can't Come Back-- this track has a laid back tempo over a simple bassline. Nat drops some real lyrics about those who bite the hands that feed them and then try to act like everything cool after that. It's a nice song to start the album off with.

3. Life As A Young G-- this track has a mellowed out live band guitar and drum sound on the beats. Nat doesn't really come that tight on this one because he fails to rap with any emotion on the track. His voice is monotone throughout and for the lyrics, there should be more emotion on the vocals.

4. Hard-N-Da-City-- this track has a nice piano loop over a bassline. Nat raps about all the shit and hustlin that goes down in the city. It's a decent track worth givin a listen to.

5. Forgotten Queen-- this track has a midtempo beat that has that radio friendly feel to it. This is one of those 'treat my girl like she's supposed to be treated' type tracks. It's an all right track if you're into those slower, softer songs like that.

6. Fired Up About Florida (We Won't Forget)-- skit about the Florida voting scandal

7. Fire In Florida (Everything's On Fire)-- this track has an old skool west coast gangsta sound on the beats. Nat comes pretty tight on the verses in a faster pace than what we've seen up to this point. It's a nice track that definitely bumpable.

8. 18 To 22-- this track has a nice midtempo beat. Nat drops a couple of verses about a high school graduate with nothing else going on for him who ends up gettin his girlfriend pregnant. It's not that bad of a track but personally I didn't find much about the track that'll make me listen to it over and over.

9. Road Of Life-- this track has a slower, gangsterish beat. Nat talks about how it's hard to make that money but even harder to keep it because of all the people tryin to take it from you. Pretty bumpin track here.

10. The Speech About The Sprinkler System-- skit about the drug game comparin it to a sprinkler

11. Sprinkler System-- this track has a laid back R&B feel on the beats. Nat drops more lyrics comparing the drug trade to a sprinkler system where different dope dealers are different sprinkler heads. It's not that bad of a track.

12. Real Daddy-- this track has a midtempo beat over which Nat raps about raising your son the right way and how there aren't that many real dads in the hood cause they leave their kids at home. It's a decent track.

13. Chocolate Woman-- this track has a laid back sound that sounds like something LL Cool J would record. Nat basically gives an ode to the real strong black women. I think the females would enjoy this track more than all the guys out there (so maybe this is where to go with a radio single).

14. Wild Child-- this track has a midtempo beat with piano loops mixed in over a bassline. Nat comes decent on the mic about someone who learned the street life as a youngsta and now he's outta control. It's a bumpable track.

15. I Had Enough-- this track has a simple 80's style beat that really isn't all that tight. Nat doesn't come that tight on the mic either. He sounds like he's not rappin off key compared to the beats. I think you'd be better skippin this one.

16. Fire Up The Freestyle (f/ J.V. & Uno)-- this track has a dark, haunted house type beat. Nat starts it off sayin the track is all freestyle. J.V. starts off the track & comes decent on the mic although it doesn't sound much like a freestyle. Uno has a tight soundin voice and comes with a nice verse. Nat ends the track and finally comes with the fire I was expectin to hear over the course of the album. It's a very nice track worth checkin out.

17. Real Daddy (Long Version)

Overall, I thought the album was not that bad for an independent project. The production on the beats was lacking at times on the album but no more than a lot of other indy albums we've heard. I thought the main problem was the lack of emotion in Nat's vocals over the course of the album. He raps with a monotone style that makes you lose interest as you get further along in the album. He finally put it together on Track 16 so the potential is definitely there. At this point, his writing skills exceed his rappin skills. I have a feelin the next album will be much improved so check him out.
