DowShay is originally from Shreveport, Louisiana but now he reps Chi-Town, Illinois. Now he releases his debut EP with 8 tracks featuring Blizzard, Tre B (of Criminal Law), Sonyah, Tiah, Lady Law, Jessy James, The X, Holly Wud, Big Micheal Phillips, Mo Black, The Bogus Boiz, Philly Slugz, & Blaque Pur'L.

1. System Check (intro)

2. Life Is Good-- this track has a really nice mid tempo beat that'll have ya head noddin right off. Sonyah adds a nice touch with her singing of the hook. The song is about all the good things in life because it's "all about that chedda". Very nice song here.

3. Spitt'n Game-- DowShay raps the first verse in a style similar to E-40 and even acknowledges that he can change his rap style whenever he wants. Lady Law drops the second verse and even throws out a mic check to Eightball & MJG. Dowshay drops the third verse and he backs off the E-40 style just a tad. The beat on this one is really similar to Timbaland. Listen to it and you'll know what I mean. This is a decent track.

4. Country To The City-- Mo Black, The Bogus Boiz, & Philly Slugz really stand out on this one. They come with that rapid fire style of rap that Chicago has come to be associated with. DowShay raps with a southern drawl that would make anyone outta Louisiana proud. The beat is decent but the flows on this one make it definitely worth checkin out.

5. How We Do It-- the beat has a lot of mixin and scratchin on it. They also add in some talking like Timbaland always has on his tracks. DowShay kinda sounds like 2Pac on this track. Nothing really special about this one.

6. Pop It, Drop It, Twirk It-- this track is your booty-shakin, up-in-the-club track. It's actually a nice track. If DowShay was a bigger name in the rap game, this would actually be one of the most played songs in the clubs. DowShay kinda sounds like Juvenile on this one. It's a bumpable track.

7. Pop It, Drop It, Twirk It (radio version)

8. Outro-- just a bunch of shout outs

Overall, I came away with the feelin that DowShay does have the talent to make it in the rap game. Even though he moved to Chicago, he has a Southern influence in his lyrics and overall rap style that is unmistakeable. He needs to back away from the obvious similarities to Timbaland when it comes to the beats but I'll definitely be checking out his next full length album.
