17 yr-old Atlanta, GA, rapper Archie Eversole drops his solo nationwide 16 track debut album, "Ride Wit Me: Dirty South Style" (which is a re-release of his independent album "Ride Wit Me").

Archie will be sure to draw comparisons to Pastor Troy's style just because the debut single from the album is titled "We Ready" --but these comparisons are obviously being made from people who have yet to listen to this album. There is nothing on this album that will make you think of Pastor Troy's style of rap (other than an occasional "C'Mon"). In fact, Archie reminds me more of a cross between Ludacris and T-Rock without the pure lyrical skills.

Following an intro, "We Ready" (Track 2) is the single getting major radio airplay and video airplay on BET "Rap City". This is regular version without Bubba Sparxxx, which sounds better to me that the "We Ready Remix" (Track 15). Next up, "Rollin Hard" (Track 3) ain't all that tight. The beat is average and the lyrics aren't all that for a bling bling type song. "Ride Wit Me" (Track 4) features Larry Blackmon from Cameo singing the hook. It's a pretty nice song that is almost a dance song with street credibility. I could see this being released as a single.

"Why Me", "Everything Is Alright", & "Don't Fuck Wit Us" are the next 3 tracks, and they are all tight songs. The way Archie raps on "Everything Is Alright" and "Don't Fuck Wit Us" reminds me a little of Ludacris and T-Rock. "Don't Fuck Wit Us" even gives a little of Gangsta Blac when he spells out "D-O-N-T...." ala "S-O-U-T-H Parkway".

"Keep It In Step" (Track 8 has a Drama "Left/Right" feel to it and it's got a tight heavy bass beat to it. But this track is far from a dance type song like "Left/Right".

"Chicken Wing" (Track 9) is up next and it's another tight song. "Throw A Bottle" (Track 10) is the next track it's got a Memphis crunk style to it. Nice song here too. "Smoke Dat Dope" (Track 11) is a song about smokin weed--the beat is kinda weak and the hook is even weaker. The lyrics on this song keep me from hittin skip on my CD player.

"We Gangsta" (Track 12) also got some tight flow to it--nice beats and nice lyrics from everyone in the song. "Get Dat Hoe" (Track 13) is an all right track--there are better songs on this album for sure. "Chop Em Down" (Track 14) is another mediocre song. The album ends with the Bubba Sparxxx "We Ready Remix" and an outro.

Overall, I have to give this album a positive rating. There are some pretty good songs on here like "We Ready", "Everything Is Alright", and "Don't Fuck Wit Us". Keeping in mind that this is Archie's debut album and that he's only 17 years old (and most of the songs being recorded when he was 16), he has a very bright future in the rap game. With the right promotion from MCA Records, he is on his way to becoming a rap star nationwide. As he matures lyrically, his next release should be even better than this impressive debut album.
