This story was inspired by my visit to the real Birdcage Theater in Tombstone, AZ.
I've set the story in Tucson to make it more within the timeline necessary. The building itself is a facinating place to visit and the descriptions in the story are faithful to the way the real Birdcage looks
Adam and Hoss visit Tucson on a cattle buying trip. Adam thinks back to when he was seventeen and formed a friendship with the daughter of a prostitute whose home was the Birdcage Theater.
