Ull Mor CCE was founded in 1997 as the “Big Apple” (Manhattan) Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann (pronounced coal-tis kyol-tory air-in), an international organization dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of Irish music, song, dance, language, and culture. Loosely translated, it means “gathering of Irish musicians.”

• Founded in Ireland in 1951, CCE now has more than 400 branches promoting the traditional arts of Ireland around the world. It has no religious or political agenda, and you do not have to be Irish to join or to attend our events.

• CCE is open to anyone interested in traditional Irish culture. New supporters are always welcome! All events offer a friendly, informal atmosphere that members of all ages will enjoy.

• Ull Mor, the Manhattan Branch of CCE, was founded in 1997. Champion dancer, architect and musician Niall O'Leary was the founding chairman. Other musicians who have played a role in the branch are: Marie Reilly, Kevin Moyna, Patrick Ourceau, Jack Coen, Jimmy Coen.

Ull Mor CCE became one of the most active in the northeast and mid-atlantic regions.
