Richard Dean Anderson
(as Colonel Jonathan "Jack" O'Neill)


Colonel Jonathan "Jack" O'Neill is commanding officer of team SG-1. When he joined the Air Force at 18 years of age, O'Neill proved himself to be an exceptional and gifted airman and was later assigned to a special forces unit. He resigned from service when his son Charlie died by accidentally shooting himself with O'Neill's gun. O'Neill never recovered from the loss, which drove his wife to eventually leave him. O'Neill was recalled by his former commanding officer to go through the Stargate precisely because of his willingness to die. Instead, the mission gave him a new desire to live.

Richard Dean Anderson is internationally known for his title role in the television series MacGyver, which ran for seven successful seasons on ABC and now airs in syndication worldwide. Anderson and his producing partner, Michael Greenburg, operating under their production company banner, Gekko Film Corp., Executive Produced



the two MacGyver television movies that followed, Trail to Doomsday and Lost Treasure of Atlantis.

Born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Anderson’s first career goal was to become a professional hockey player. However, after breaking both arms in separate collisions on the ice, he decided to seek other career options. As the son of a Jazz musician father and contemporary artist mother, his interests naturally turned to the humanities.

After completing a grueling cross-country bicycle trip to Alaska, Anderson began studying drama at St. Cloud State College and Ohio University. Relocating to Los Angeles, at Marineland and a jester-singer-mime-juggler at a 16th Century Renaissance-style cabaret.

In 1976, Anderson was cast as Dr. Jeff Webber on ABC’s daytime drama General Hospital. His role, which he played for five years, helped launch his career. He subsequently starred in the series Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Emerald Point, N.A.S., both for CBS. Just prior to STARGATE SG-1, Anderson Executive Produced and starred in his favorite project to date, the critically acclaimed Legend.

Anderson made his television movie debut in 1986 in Ordinary Heroes. Other television movies include Past the Bleachers for Hallmark, Eyes of a Stranger, Beyond Betrayal and Through the Eyes of a Killer. His most recent television movie was the extremely successful NBC mini-series Pandora’s Clock.

In his free time Anderson plays hockey, races cars and skis any one of his favorite mountain ranges. He is the co-founder of the Celebrity All-Star Hockey Team which raises funds for charities in conjunction with the NHL and is an active fund-raiser and board member for the Challengers Club, a children’s recreational center in South Central L.A.

Anderson recently became a father for the first time to the exceptional Wylie Quinn Annarose. Wylie, her mother Apryl and Richard share time between their homes in California and British Columbia.


 

Amanda Tapping
(as Major/Dr. Samantha Carter)

Major/Dr. Samantha Carter is an astro-physics genius. She is the 'expert' on gate technology; she has read every bit of information known to exist and has studied the permutations of the gate symbols at length. When the plug is pulled on her gate research project and she is transferred to another base, she continues her research in private. She is able to resume her obsession with the gate when the SG-1 team is assembled. Like the other team members, Samantha is unattached socially. Major Carter is fiercely loyal to the SGC and not only brings her extensive scientific knowledge to the program but also her military training.

Amanda Tapping was born in Rochford, England and raised in Toronto with her three brothers. She has guest starred on such series as The X-Files, Due South, Forever Knight, Kung-Fu: The Legend Continues, The Newsroom, Millennium, and The Outer Limits and was a series regular on the Disney series Flash Forward. Television film credits include Lessons in Love, Remembrance and Degree of Guilt. She has also appeared in the feature films Booty Call and Rent a Kid.

A graduate of the University of Windsor School of Dramatic Art, Tapping has performed in such theatrical productions as Steel Magnolias, Look Back in Anger, Children of A Lesser God, Noises Off, The Lion in Winter and The Shadow Walkers. In addition, she co-founded the Canadian comedy troupe Random Acts.

Tapping is an avid reader and writer, currently working on two screenplays and a new comedy piece. She spends what little spare time she has renovating her new home and frolicking with the newest member of her family, her puppy Abbie.


 

Christopher Judge
(as Teal'c)

Teal'c is an alien of the species known as Jaffa. The Jaffa carry infant symbiotes in pouches in their bellies. This symbiote is the larval stage of the Goa'uld. There is a strong symbiotic relationship between the larva and the Jaffa as the symbiote guarantees its host immunity to diseases. For this reason, Jaffa live to be very old. Once a member of the Apophis's notorious Serpent Guards, Teal'c left his family and culture behind when he joined the SG-1 team. His main reason for joining is to defeat the Goa'uld and to try to set at least some of his misdeeds straight.

Although Christopher Judge seemed pre-destined to have a career in football after receiving a football scholarship from the University of Oregon, becoming a three time All-American and playing in the Hula Bowl, he always knew he wanted to be an actor.

While in Oregon, Judge entered a contest to host the West Coast FOX KLSR Morning Show. His witty five minute monologue help him beat out thousands of other hopefuls for the job. This break lead him to several guest star appearances on such television comedies as Martin, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Lush Life, and The Jamie Foxx Show. Television series guest star credit include The Burning Zone, Wise Guy, 21 Jump Street, MacGyver and Gabriel’s Fire before becoming a series regular on Sirens where he played Richie Styles. Judge’s feature film credits include lead roles in The Glory Years, Little Feet, Bird on a Wire, Cadence and House Party II where he played the memorable antagonist Miles. More recently, Judge co-starred opposite Jennifer Beals in the film Out Of Pocket. He is currently in development with STARGATE Executive Producer Michael Greenburg and Michael's brother Ross Greenburg, Executive Producer of HBO Sports to bring the Joe Louis story to the screen.

Judge studied Drama at the renowned Howard Fine Studio in Los Angeles and continues to be an avid athlete.

Last year Judge produced and starred in the short film entitled Hacks. This past hiatus, Judge fulfilled a long time ambition and recorded his first CD. The first single to be released is entitled "We're Going to Take Our Clothes Off."

His distinctive voice can be heard on the animated series Action Man (Simon Gray), Book Of Virtues (Plato) and X-MEN (Magneto).

Judge likes to relax by spending time with his children Christopher, Cameron and Catrina.


 

Don S. Davis
(as General George Hammond)

General Hammond is Commander of the SGC and all SG units. He is a hardened military leader, and a wise man who is willing to do whatever is necessary to defend the interests of his country and all humanity.

Don S. Davis is a multi-talented man who is a respected character actor, a nationally exhibited painter, a former theater professor and Captain in the United States Army. He has appeared in numerous feature films including The Fan, Alaska, A League of Their Own, Hook, Hero, Needful Things, Mystery Date and Look Who's Talking. His television credits include recurring roles in The X-Files where he played father to Gillian Anderson’s Agent Scully, Twin Peaks where he played Major Briggs, Madison, Slick Air, and Broken Badges in addition to guest starring on such programs as Northern Exposure, L.A. Law, Knots Landing, Wiseguy and MacGyver.

Davis has had featured roles in the television movies Fire on the Mountain, Stepsister, Tricks, Angel of Pennsylvania Avenue, In Cold Blood, Showtime’s The Prisoner of Zenda, A Dream is a Wish The Heart Makes, The Ranger, The Cook and The Hole in the Sky, One More Mountain, Columbo: A Bird in Hand, Dead Ahead: The Exxon Valdez Disaster, Omen IV: The Awakening, Posing, Kurt Vonnegut’s Theatre: All the King's Horses and the mini-series Atomic Train.

Davis currently resides with his lovely wife just outside of Vancouver and spends his spare time honing his artistic talents and or trying to improve his golf game.


 

Teryl Rothery
(as Dr. Janet Fraiser)

Dr. Janet Fraiser is a military doctor and Major. General Hammond hand picked her to work in the SGC because of her wide range of expertise. Dr. Fraiser's skill and compassion enable her to face the most peculiar cases brought to her by SG-1 and all the other SG teams.
Vancouver native, Teryl Rothery always knew she wanted to be an entertainer. Her career began as a dancer at age thirteen when she performed in her first musical Bye Bye Birdie. Her role in Annie Get Your Gun earned her a Most Outstanding Performer award with her theater company. At age 18, Teryl made her first television appearance in the CBC Halloween Special Boo. It was at this time she decided that her place was in front of a camera.

Teryl has had lead roles in the made for television movies Race Against Fear, Hunt in Full Cry with Rosanna Arquette, Dead Man’s Gun with John Ritter, Badge of Betrayal with Michele Greene, Deceived By Trust with Stephanie Kramer and Tailhook with Gail O’Grady and Hal Holbrook which was based on the real-life Tailhook scandal. Television series guest star roles include Traders, Viper, The X-Files, The Commish, multiple episodes of The Outer Limits and a recurring role on the critically acclaimed FOX series Profit. She has also appeared in the feature films Warriors of Virtue, Magic in the Water with Mark Harmon, Mastermind with Patrick Stewart and Andre with Keith Carradine. Her most recent feature film role was with David Bowie in Exhuming Mr. Rice which is scheduled to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May.



Corin Nemec
(as Jonas Quinn)

First introduced in the Season Five finale, Nemec portrays "Jonas Quinn," a human leader from another planet who visits Earth and becomes entangled with the SG-1 team. He will join "Colonel Jack O'Neill" (Anderson), "Major Samantha Carter" (Amanda Tapping) and "Teal'C" (Christopher Judge) as they continue to explore the uncharted regions of the universe - searching for clues to save the Earth from destruction.
