It was about 9:00 OR 9:30 pm, my boyfriend and I went out to look at the stars as we often do, he had the binoculars for about 2 minutes when I heard him gasp I asked him what it was and he just pointed, so I looked and I almost couldn't believe what I saw, there was an object with bright lights ascending from the trees when it got above the trees it just hovered there for about a minute or two then it slowly (I know this sounds out of the ordinary)flew above the house making no noise, although the wind seep rose, and just as it was over the house it picked up speed and within a minute or less it was out of sight. the UFO was triangular shaped more along the lines of the shape of a boomerang it was extremely dark out so I couldn't catch a specific color but I would say it was black or grey and the lights were something else they were white along the top and one red one on the bottom, I drew a picture of the spacecraft but don't know how to send it in. thank you for your time just needed to tell someone who wouldn't think I was crazy.

I was partying at a friend's house on Friday January 18. Everyone had fallen asleep by about 5:00 AM and I was the only one left awake . I decided to clean up my friend's rather atrocious house and this required taking the garbage outside to the garbage bin. It was a somewhat clear night with only a few clouds in the sky. There wasn't anyone up and the streets were silent. As I placed the garbage bags into the bin I noticed a bright light far away on the horizon. I remember only glancing at the sight as I assumed it was merely a plane or chopper. It should be noted that I had previously been a skeptic when it came to UFO sightings. As I turned to enter the house the light began an unbelievable ascent into the sky. I say unbelievable because of the rate at which the object could climb. It was at this very moment that I first entertained the notion of this vessel being an unidentified flying object. The light seemed to be emanating from one source but if I glanced away for the briefest moment the light appeared to be made up of multiple lights that were arranged in a semi-circle pattern. The object had risen to an enormous height in the sky and I thought it was going to disappear into the night when suddenly it began a descent with the velocity at which it had previously risen. I remember a feeling of fright coming over me. As a rational person I was terrified at the notion that something inexplicable could exist, and yet here it was before me. The object appeared to be coming in my direction as it descended. I lost sight of the object for a second and then it re-appeared directly overhead. I estimate it must have been about a mile-and-a-half above the ground. It sliced through the clouds effortlessly and as soon as it had appeared overhead, it was gone. The under panel was marked with an 'X' and had white lights outlining this shape. There appeared to be a red light moving around the object in a circular pattern. I remember hearing a low buzzing sound that accompanied the vessel as it flew overhead. ! I was completely overwhelmed and spent the remainder of the morning debating whether I had actually seen what I had thought I had seen and whether or not it would be worth telling anyone at all.

We spotted red and green light in the sky. Pulled the car over and got out to observe. The object was quite low coming closer and lower you could see it in a spinning maneuver one way it would flash a bright red glow the other way it would flash green. It slowly started to move away the light would change to a whitish yellow light. As it moved away it got higher and you could see the red and green glow flashing then it disappeared.

Me and my wife were in my porch, when she told me to come quickly. Then I saw her looking up in the sky, I looked up to see what she was looking at. I then saw a bright orange circle suddenly, very quickly, it split into 3 other circles. The three Circles sort of floated in the air, suddenly one of them "blitzed" to the left, and left a bright tail. around 3 seconds later, the other two circles "blitzed", but to the other side, one, a little farther then the other. The buildings blocked us from seeing any further. It was something I've never seen. Very interesting.

I saw a large triangular outline of red and white lights that seemed to hover and then move very slowly pass my car.

I was driving westbound on the King side road and as I approached the traffic lights at Jane St. I saw a large, stationary, triangular object. I could not actually see a solid object but rather the impression of an object was created due to a triangular pattern of lights.

The lights were white, red and a third color (blue or green). The lights seemed to be over a major highway (Hwy 400) so I thought it was a traffic plane. When I stopped at the traffic lights and the object didn't move I thought it might be a helicopter. It was the large outline (roughly hand size) and the triangular shape that made me wonder if it was in fact something else.

As I left the traffic lights and continued to the overpass I was able to watch the object pass from my front to my driver's side window. I was driving very slowly and the object may have been moving very slowly in the opposite direction. I lost sight of the object as I descended the other side of the overpass.

All of my window's were closed but my radio was not on. I do not remember hearing any noises.

We came out of a clothing store on Mavis Road in the north part of Mississauga, my son my wife and my sons friend, were getting into our car when we all (except my wife who was already entered the car) saw an amazingly bright green/blue fireball. It dropped for about 15 seconds from what must have been a great height. It caught our attention because at first it was so small (a pin prick of light) yet amazingly bright, as it dropped/ moved downwards it got bigger and very much brighter, it hurt your eyes to look at it. We were almost under the approach path to Toronto Intl. planes were stacked up in a line approaching the airport, this was much higher than the planes. Ultimately it became a bit bigger than the size of a dime at arms length. It dropped from a height of about 80 degrees to approx 30 degrees in a spastic jerking manner, this took from 12 to 18 seconds. This was not a firework or a flare, the color was truly very odd, just before it disappeared it moved/jerked sideways and flashed a blindingly bright orange color, then nothing. We discussed it amongst ourselves afterwards and feel it must have been something burning up as it entered the atmosphere, but as to why it should jerk around and twitch as it fell, we can only speculate.

Essex, ON

February 2, 2002, 11:00 PM

My daughter lives 5 miles southwest of the small town of Essex Ontario. She walked into her kitchen over to the sink and happened to glance out her window. There are two fields between her farmhouse and the neiborough (about 1/4 mile) separated by a dirt road. What she saw was three small dazzlingly bright lights that were close together about 20 feet above the ground about 30 feet into the field north of her main road. Below these bright lights, close to the ground was fairly narrow but very wide band of rainbow colored pastel looking light, that seemed to flow from left to right.

What ever it was seemed to know she was looking at it because it started floating across the dirt road and across her field towards her house. She was frozen to the sink with fear. She could not make out any shape because of it being so dark and the lights being so bright. But she felt that it was huge. Fifty feet wide or so by 20 feet tall. She heard no sound. All of a sudden the lights went out and the thing was gone.

This is not the end of the story. She told her land lady about the event the next morning on Saturday, February 3, 2002 and her land lady told her that her and her husband (they live to the east side and behind my daughter) saw the same thing in the mid 1990's shortly after moving there, which left woven crop circles in the summer wheat field.

The farmer that owned the (same field my daughter first saw the lights in) ploughed up that field two days later.

This gets interesting. On Sunday night, two days after my daughter's experience the land lady went to the barn to feed her animals and noticed light coming into the barn window. When she looked out she saw the same thing my daughter had seen, but it only had two lights on top that she could see. This time the lights were farther back in the field. They too started moving towards her barn as if knowing. Three
Essex police cars responded to the call. They couldn't find anything, but told her to have a camera ready and to call right away of it returned. After the police left she called my daughter (who saw the police cars) and told her that the "the bastards are back". She then told her what happened. This is not a hoax and is told to you exactly as it was told to me. Thank you.

MYSTERIOUS FIREBALL PASSES OVER WINDSOR, ONTARIO

On Wednesday, February 13, 2002, at 8:02 p.m., "a large, bright, long-duration fireball with well-timed
sonic booms occurred over southern Ontario" province in Canada. "Reports have come in from three ground-based observers--two in Michigan (USA) and one in Ontario." "The fireball was east of the Detroit
(Michigan)/Windsor (Ontario) area and west of the RASC (Royal Astronomical Society of Canada) observer station at Fingal, Ont.  The sonic boom delay puts a portion of the trajectory some 65 kilometers (40 miles) west of Fingal. This fireball was also reported by three separate commercial air flights."

Myself and three friends late Sunday evening decided to go outside in the backyard for a cigarette when we noticed a strange sky. It appeared to be a full or almost full moon out, but there was a strange circle around the moon. It had a glow around the circle, I am not much of an astronomer but I believe it was a lunar eclipse, the moon was very bright and seemed to be right in the middle of the circle which had a glowing haze around it.

One of my friends had a digital camera and decided to take some pictures. That is when we noticed these small round objects in the photos. They were different in color, blue red and green. She took several photos and we noticed a few of these fireball-like objects had formed a triangular pattern. We stared into the night sky at them for a few minutes. It was late and dark and to be honest we were all a little frightened by the sighting and went inside. I am expecting to receive the photographic evidence any day now via e-mail and will post them a.s.a.p., I will remain anonymous until after I post the pictures at which time I will make myself available for any questioning.

The sighting began at around 12:00 a.m. on Friday morning. When me, my friend, mother, and girlfriend were on the way back from picking up my girlfriend. My mother and I noticed a small white/yellow, tear drop shaped object turned on its side. At first it was thought to be an air plain. As we continued back to my house we noticed that the same object was moving and then it would stop in mid-air. It would move and hover for a few seconds then move again. We considered it a helicopter until we turned the car around to take a better look it as it darted away faster. We decided to follow the object and as we moved closer the object darted even faster. Then the object darted off passing over a forest area, beyond the Hamilton escarpment. Then the object was now out of eye sight. We got out of the car to see if we could find where it had gone, but we had no luck. This all occurred within 10 minutes and by this time we started to drive home and noticed a helicopter with blinking red(front) and blue(back) lights. We believed it was a police helicopter when we saw it heading toward where we last saw the object dart from our sight.

I was not home at the time, as I was away on a family, medical emergency, followed by a funeral. When my husband joined me on the day of the funeral, he told me of this incredible sighting, and believes it could have been a UFO. He is not absolutely sure that it was a UFO, but he has never seen anything like it before. Also, he isn't particularly interested in UFO's, but he knows enough on the subject, through me, to realize that what he was seeing would definitely fit the description of similar sightings.

We live on a flight path to Pearson, International Airport outside of Toronto, so we are used to the sounds and sights of planes, including flashing lights, their shapes, and sounds, etc. However, what he saw was completely unfamiliar. He was just opening the bedroom window, before going to bed. The window winds outwards, and faces north-east, and as he glanced to the north, 4 very, bright lights caught his eye, as they must have just passed through our property, heading northwards. He said the object was completely silent. We live in the country, so we know the sound of silence, and are aware of the times when it is disrupted even slightly.

He described the object as appearing to be one, long completely flat, and rectangular craft (from the angle he was seeing it..retreating). The lights were flashing or blinking in a pattern, as opposed to being like beams or spotlights, and they were very, bright white. The object appeared to be descending in a manner that he described with the motion of his hands, (difficult to translate to this page) and it was as though it was descending in steps, as opposed to a smooth transition. It quickly, and completely disappeared from his view, as it dropped beyond the horizon, just beyond the tiny, hamlet of Mono Center, located approximately 1/2 kilometer north of our house. Also, there is a large, Provincial park, just beyond Mono Center, where the object appeared to descend. He described its' movements as quick and completely silent. He was literally stunned, and knew how disappointed I would be that I wasn't there to share the experience. I don't know if this is relevant but there is an Canadian, armed forces base, north of here...Camp Borden.

Our approximate, geographical location is North/West of Toronto, Ontario - 1 hr.& 15-30 minute drive (75 km). We are on a paved road that runs between Airport Rd. & Highway #10 (Hurontario St.) about 15 minutes (18 km) north of Highway #9 and 15 minutes (18 km) south of Highway #89 and approximately 15 minutes (18 km) north/east from Orangeville, Ontario.

I would be interested to know if anyone else has reported this sighting, particularly, as UFO sightings have increased by 44% in Canada.

" Right now I'm still, quite excited, as today I saw a HUGE  flying saucer(this is exactly what it looked like) right over downtown Ottawa today at approximately 2:00pm. I asure you I'm not even joking(and would  never fabricate a sighting). I was visiting a friend at a hospital  in Hull (Gatineau now), Quebec for the afternoon today. He went back to  his room, to get changed because we were going to go outside for awhile. So I stayed in the smoking room, with a man that I had talked to a few  times before. This smoking room has a panoramic window view of downtown  Ottawa, and the hospital is located close to the Ottawa River(cross the street, enter a park and you're there). Anyway, I was sitting there, watching tv, when all of a sudden the man said something to the effect of "what the hell is that flying over there?" I look expecting a kite or something, but it  was this massive saucer! It seemed like at first it was hiding in a lower cloud (the sky was cloudy), the it moved towards completely revealing it's self. My view was very clear and amazing. Right there, over downtown Ottawa, was this huge craft! It's colour was dark grey metallic, it's shape  was round. It's just, you know, the sort of thing I always read about in  UFO sightings. You could call it a classic flying saucer. The sighting lasted for about 30 seconds, when the object disappeared out of view due to  part of the hospital blocking the way. It's size was a little bigger than  an airliner, there weren't any lights that I saw. I noticed when I last  seen it, it was going either north or northwest. It couldn't have been much over 400 ft. above the skyscrapers of downtown Ottawa! This thing had to  have been seen by at least .......a lot of people.  I'd be VERY surprised if you don't here more about this sighting form other people."

Two balls of light with illuminated contrails flying in formation at a constant altitude and heading.

We were flying west bound 50nm south of Sault Ste Marie Ontario, Canada at FL390. The sky was clear with the odd cloud formation below us. We noticed at our 1 o'clock position, at approx our altitude two balls of light flying towards us. The balls of light were flying in a continuous formation and constant altitude, and each had an illuminated contrail. The lights continued on what seemed to be a constant heading until they went by our right wing 10-40nm away. As they passed, the second light split into two separate lights, as if up until then one light was obscuring the other. When the lights reached our 5 o'clock position they all disappeared. I would estimate that each light was 200-400 feet in diameter, and each contrail was illuminated for 2000-4000 feet. We notified ATC and they had no other aircraft in the area, or anything on radar. Also, another aircraft 100nm behind us at FL280 stated they had seen the same lights. Both myself and the other pilot have been flying for more than 25 years with over 10,000 hours each and neither of us has seen anything like it before.

((NUFORC Note: We spoke at length with this airliner crew member, and found him to be an excellent witness. We also spoke with the other cockpit crewmember, who submitted a report, as well. Each person has flight time logged that is measured by the tens of thousands of hours, and both of them have decades of experience in the cockpit of an airliner. 3 objects seen at night by Airline crew at 28, 000 ft.

On a night flight from Hamilton Ontario Canada to Winnipeg Manitoba Canada at an altitude of 28,000 ft, 3 objects were seen in the sky by the 3 crew members in the cockpit operating the flight. The objects were round with bright white lights and each had a long trail of white light turning to red with some blue. Air traffic control had nothing on the radar but another aircraft reported that they saw the same thing as we did. The other aircraft was at 39,000 ft and to them the objects seemed to be at that altitude, whereas to us it seemed to be at our altitude of 28,000 ft. I was just standing by the river on the dock at my uncle's cabin. I was alone, everyone else had gone inside. The embers from the fire over which we roasted our supper were still glowing warmly, beckoning me to sit by them. No sounds but that of the crickets, owls and other denizens of the night did I hear. I stared at the clear night sky, with its stars and moon shining brilliantly in all their glory, and then at the perfectly still, flawless surface of the river which reflected the scene in the sky magnificently. It was as though I stood upon a plain between two skies, one above me and one below me, each an exact representation of the other. Looking down I wondered that if I were to step off the dock would I truly plunge into the warm, placid water or would I in fact fall into the night sky? Suddenly, on the glassy surface I spied a star that seemed to be moving! "Surely it is a satellite." I told myself. But it was much to large to be light reflecting off a satellite in orbit, and travelling much too quickly as well! It made several arcs before me and it was then that I realized what I was bearing witness to. It was not a man-made object encircling the globe from outside the atmosphere! It was right here, within our very skies, and it was not of this world! I stood in stunned silence during the short duration of this spectacle and long after. I never told a soul of this encounter, for fear of the ridicule by which our society meets such tales. No, I have never, ever told a single soul...until now.

The orange light was in the sky for 4 minutes just sitting there and then slowly made it's way north west. it was an orange ball and from where I was sitting it looked about the size of a grape. I thought it was the satellite but it was orange and it slowly glided along to the north west..((name deleted)) in Kirkfield, Ontario.

I was walking through a park near my home called spring valley. I was out late in the evening walking my dog (lab/border c)and tried to see the august meteor shower. I could see some stars but their was some cloud present. Spring Valley is just a stream that comes out of a side of a hill and has carved out a little valley. It then became very quite, it felt as if the air pressure had changed, and the air current was coming from above. The dog became aroused and when the air current was coming from above the dog sought out low wood areas and tried to keep me moving. When I looked above the sky was black and felt and very very heavy, the air current became stronger and warmer. The pressure made my ears pop, I had great difficulty walking . I fell a lot and seemed to feel heavier then I am. We moved along the stream down hill to the end of the park, are way out. my dog seemed to be making a sound like when he is distressed and ran off. As I left the park I looked up and could see a faint outline of a very large object floating above the valley. From that angle I could see what looked like large wide V's ,the odor in the air was different, I felt physically exhausted, it had felt as if I had the air sucked out of me. I have a surgical pin in my ankle joint from a past bike accident and that felt as if it were burning. I do not know what this was about. I had to get a new watch and new cards with that black strip on them.

This happened around 9:20 pm on Friday, August 9th, 2002. I was biking in a new park with my cousin. It was dark, and no trees obscured the sky. Some stars where visible but very faintly. One plane was also observed, it appeared to be a passenger jet with clearly visible light beacons. When my cousin and I where close to a local school we both saw a peculiar three light triangular configuration in the sky, extremely low to the ground. I would say about 15 - 25 meters above the ground. The lights where clearly visible and definitely not faint. They could not be mistaken for an airplane or stars. They where roundish white and a little yellowish. The lights gave an impression of a very large triangular object. The lights where about 30 meters from us when they slowly begun spinning and rising at the same time at a low angle. They gave an impression as if the object in the sky was very slow and heavy. The lights then accelerated as they where rising and completely disappeared.

There was absolutely no sound heard throughout the event.

I was standing on my balcony facing East, looking at the big dipper, when I noticed at first what I thought was an aircraft on approach to YYZ come across the bottom part of the big dipper from my FOV in a Southerly direction at high altitude, traveling at what you may expect to see an airliner moving at. The light became brighter during it's path, and I figured it was lowering it's altitude while I watched. The light then went much dimmer and quickly went out of sight as if it the light just went out.

There were no clouds, and I could see all the other star formations around where it vanished. I thought that was pretty weird, then noticed a second, slightly dimmer light also at high altitude approach the same area from the East, and also vanished in pretty much the same area of sky. As I said, there were no clouds, and my view was unobstructed.

One aircraft had taken off from YYZ in a North then Westerly direction shortly before these events, which is not unusual.

Shaped like the sole of a shoe, it crossed the night sky from west to east during darkness on a perfectly clear night (22:29. Aug 5/2002 in Toronto, Canada. It traveled along its length, unlike a bird. It seemed to be illuminated in red from below but there were no blinking lights. I first observed the object directly overhead but it did not seem at all to be among the stars; it seemed much lower. Though it was not streaking, there was no trail, the object went very rapidly, no more than 2 or 3 seconds and disappeared in the bright haze of the lower horizon in the ESE. The trajectory seemed mostly straight although halfway through, the object seemed to adjust its course slightly.

I'm a journalist, photographer, private pilot (lapsed) radio control airplane builder and flyer, amateur astronomer. I had been sitting outside for about 20 minutes, preparing for an evening of star gazing with my 10 inch telescope. I've been looking up at the sky during the day and during the night ever since I can remember (I'm aged 50). I was looking straight up at the stars when the object appeared. There had been occasional airplanes crossing my field of view shortly before and after (but not during) my sighting. This object was much lower and made no noise which I could hear. Although in a large built up city, the stars are still quite visible overhead. A few minutes later, when my wife joined me, we saw a small speck, a satellite go past the star Vega. As an astronomer I have observed satellites, man-made objects (ISS), comets and meteors moving through the night sky. This was like nothing I have ever seen before.

My uncle was looking up at a helicopter when he saw a small circle being followed by a larger circle in which they were moving at the same speed and never moving away from each other.the they were stationary for about 10 minutes in which the smaller one disappeared and about a minute later the bigger one split into two and vanished. After a short period of time many more started flying across the sky and then vanishing in the light. After they would circle back and continue for about 30-40 minutes in which then they were stationary in different spots across the sky. They appeared to be only one when you looked at them but some were really two crafts close together this was known because a near by person had a binoculars which he borrowed. My theory is if they are UFO that they were there because of the large gathering the day being caribanna where nearly has a million people there. They were not planes either because there is Pearson airport and the planes around were visible and were moving at a much slower pace because of them approaching or leaving the airport. This was on a clear day not a single cloud so it was rather easy to see.

I was looking at Polaris and then two bright objects appeared right where I was looking. The two objects seemed to be round, and were very bright (white). The two objects began to spin in a clockwise circle together as if synchronized and tethered together, they did 4 rotations, then they stopped the rotation and traded places vertically very quickly, the top one going to the bottom, and the bottom one going to the top, they did this three times, and on the last time they did not stop, they kept traveling apart from each other until I could no longer see them.

My wife and i were sitting outside talking with my parents who were visiting and noticed a steady moving object that looked like a star very high up we thought it was probably a satellite because we usually see them at the cottage. when all of a sudden a smaller star like object rushed behind it at an incredible speed and stopped directly beside it then turned in a small circle 180 degrees I could actually see the circle it made as it moved and then took off very fast in the opposite direction it took a about 3 or 4 for seconds for it to cross the entire visible sky.Unfortunately my wife and parents were still looking at the larger object as I was frantically trying to get them to look at what I was looking at but it was too late by the time they turned there heads. It was still an amazing thing and I have never seen anything move that quick before.

My wife and I were watching TV around 10:30ish. We live on the sixth floor of an apartment building. To the east, there appeared to be 2 or 3 orange colored lights coming towards the apt. (this happens frequently as we are apparently in the flight path of the Oshawa airport). The only thing was, the lights did not get any closer. They seemed to possibly be about 1 mile away from us I suppose (it was hard to tell this). They hovered for a while. Eventually, as time went by, at least 7 lights were seen by both of us. I used binoculars to try and see more, but all I could make out was the orange lights and nothing else, except for what seemed like smoke/steam/exhaust? coming from them at times. This stream of exhaust seemed to go up into the sky quite a ways. We heard no sound and the night air was calm. If there were 7 helicopters hovering in the night sky, I'm sure we would have heard something. Then they were gone. Just wanted to add to the other reports I have read about on this web site.

Hi Brian

I emailed you about the objects I saw in the sky, I saw the object between November 8-12 I didn't remember but I saw it around 0100 and my co-worker saw it last week around 22:00-23:00 at the same place were we smoke the ciggerate. I am not saying what it was in the sky but it didn't look like a plane to me or my co-worker thought the same. The altitude of the object was higher then the usual of  when a plane is flying I know when a plane flys it has a maximum altitude it is supposed to fly but this object was higher then the plane altitude. The direction of the object was going northeast of where we were smoking, from Victoria Park and Sheppard in Toronto, Ontario. I heard no sound because of the distance of the object. It would stop and go slowly like an Ant, it was orange in colour. The weather was perfect it was not even a cloud in the sky. I would like to know what it was.

The co-worker the witness mentions to me in this report is going to make their report to me of what they witnessed a week earlier.

I would like to thank the witness for their report.

I saw in the early morning of November 12th [2002] (after 12:30 am) an unusual object flying back and forth in an area northwest of the Steeles Avenue  and Bathurst Street area. I suppose it was in the sky over Thornhill. I viewed it with another person from a high-risebuilding (located between Finch and  Steeles) for at least 10 to 15 minutes. (The other person saw the object before I did. I was woken up from my sleep by the other person to see the object). The  object consisted of a pulsating red light. With a pair of binoculars, I saw only the red light (no other colours) and did not see any structure or wings. The object was moving abruptly and rapidly back and forth, as though it were  surveying the area. I don't know if it was moving in a linear path back and  forth, or in some kind of circular or quasi-circular path. I did not hear any noise associated with the object, but it was far away. Due to the fear that I  experienced, I did not open the window to try to hear if there was a noise. This object changed postion several times in an abrupt and rapid manner that was not characteristic of conventional aircraft (plane or helicopter). This object was definitely not a meteorite, the planet Venus, or a  pelican. It disappeared from my view at about 10 minutes to one in the morning.  Perhaps technicians at the airport recorded something unusual on radar? This  experience was upsetting. I would be interested if there were other people who  observed this unusual object, or who might know what it was.

Our personal thanks to the witness and Errol Bruce Knapp for this  report
