A Community Event for Residents of UBC and the UEL
ð What's Happening?
Happening on the Hill is an annual event that celebrates the unique community at UBC, and provides a fun, educational, and musical way to bring the people of the UBC/UEL together. A dedicated group of volunteers has organized the event for the past 9 years. We're hoping that this year's event can stand up to the successes of the past! A diverse array of activities has been organized to appeal to children, youth and adults, including:
« Children's Bike Parade
« Community Information Booths
« Community Stage - Talent Showcase, Bands
« Large Amusements - Climbing Wall and Obstacle Course, and Gladiator Jousting
« Arts & Crafts - Candy Necklaces, Veggie Sculptures, Face Painting, Art table
« Storytelling and Sing-alongs
« Exotic Animal Presentation
« BBQ & Dinner Dance
« Community Talent Showcase
« And MUCH MUCH More...
The great thing about an event like 'Happening' is that it can evolve to meet the needs of the changing community. This year's event is scheduled for Saturday September 15, 2007. Here's your chance to get involved...
ð Volunteers
To make this event work, we need volunteers to help out on the day of the event. If you are able to volunteer, we would love to have you! Youth and adult volunteers welcome. We are happy to sign for CAPP hours.
WHAT WILL VOLUNTEERS BE DOING?
Volunteers help out with:
« Park Setup
« Bike Decorating/Parade
« Daytime activities - i.e. art table, fish pond, veggie sculptures, candy necklaces
« Community BBQ
« Community Stage
