Debby began teaching at the Learning
Center in 1992. With an emphasis in adult literacy, Debby has worked
with individuals desiring to improve their reading skills. She has
also taught various high school completion classes and college writing
courses. Recently, her teaching has expanded to include instruction
in computer literacy and numerous software applications. Debby
graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois State University
and earned a Masters in Education from the University of Illinois. |
Darlene
has taught in the Learning Center since 1984 and has served as its
manager since 1986. She teaches developmental math through calculus,
statistics and S.P.C. tools, various business and accounting courses,
technical courses such as electricity and blueprint reading, test
preparation, and assorted computer classes. Working with employees,
retirees, and their spouses has been a real joy! Darlene holds a
bachelor's degree and two master's degrees from Western Michigan
University. |
Since 1984 Carol has been an
instructor at the Learning Center. She initially taught G.E.D.
preparation and high school completion classes. Carol's other areas of expertise include English, reading, spelling, and computers. She is the Web Master of this site. Through the years, Carol has also helped
employees, retirees, and spouses develop resumes and cover letters. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in teaching from Eastern Michigan University and her Master of Arts degree in reading from Western Michigan University. |
Jim has been an instructor at
the Learning Center since 1992. He has taught Accounting I and
II and has tutored GM employees, spouses, and retirees in basic math,
business math, algebra, intermediate algebra, geometry, and
technical math. Jim has provided math instruction for G.E.D. test
preparation and high school completion requirements. He also teaches
Windows 95 and 98, and Microsoft Excel and Word. Jim holds a
Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration degree from
Western Michigan University. |
