2005 Alabama High
School Football
6A and 5A
Welcome back for another season of high school
football in the great state of Alabama. I will be maintaining this page as best I can to try and keep
people up to date and in touch with the top two divisions of football in the
state. Last season I tried to keep up
with all six, but that is something I just can’t do on my own anymore due to
time constraints, but life goes on… On
the right you will find links to some of what I consider the better resources
for information as the season rolls along, if you have something you think
deserves inclusion in that list, please feel free to email
me and I will add them as I go. Also,
if you have a web page for your school that you would like to have linked to
your school’s schedule page, send
them my way and I will get on that too.
My hope for you is that this page helps keep you informed with current
events in the world of football as it relates to your favorite team and that
through that you can enjoy the game as much as I do. Best of luck to all this season, see you in Birmingham.

Starting off with the larger schools, where once
again a team from region 6 is the most likely favorite entering the
season. This classification holds the
largest schools in the state, but very rarely in full (8 team) regions. As a result, they have a little more
variability in their schedules since most teams are only required to play five
or six weeks of region play instead of seven.

The 5A classification is very competitive once again
with strong showings almost every year by teams from the Birmingham and Mobile
areas in regions 1-4 and a stout Russellville team looking to dominate the
North regions again this season after making it to the championship game again
last season.
