TRUCIAL OMAN SCOUT OFFICIAL COVER Trucial Oman Scout Logo
1960 Official Trucial Oman
Scout cover sent from Sharjah to Kuwait, Kuwait Oil Company. The cover
franked in front with 4d British stamp (unoverprinted) and tied in Sharjah
RAF Post Office with the small single circle cancel inscribed “F. P. O. 936” dated “22 July 1960”. FPO-936 Close-up
In reverse, the cover bore
the official TOS logo, and tied by three different cancels:- 1. The first British Type cancel
that introduced during the British postal administration in Dubai dated “6
January 61”. 2. Safat double circle
cancel inscribed “SAFAT – KUWAIT / PM” and dated “29 January 61”. 3. Ahmadi double circle
cancel inscribed “AHMADI – KUWIAT” and dated “30 January 61”. The
cover sent on July 22, 1960 from Sharjah and reached Ahmadi, Kuwait on
January 30th, 1961! I assume that the FPO-936 cancel used with the
wrong date. Is there any other theory for this very long delay? Back
