Paris 2002
Here are the pictures from our first anniversary weekend in Paris.  Click on them to see the full-size version.  Enjoy!
La Tour Eiffel La Seine
A view of the Seine looking northwest from the Eiffel Tower.  The circular sort of building to the right is the Radio France building (and quite ugly if you ask me, but there you go.)
Since Dave had never been to Paris before, the first thing we did was go to the Eiffel Tower.
Ann & Dave, one year on
L'Arc de Triomphe
Two happy people you might recognize. :)  And yes, that is my shirt that Dave is wearing.  Note the fencing to keep me from plummeting hundreds of feet to my doom in the quest for the perfect picture.
More directly northish view.  In the center is the famous Arc de Triomphe and L'Etoile, the star-shaped bunch of streets leading away from it - including the Champs Elysees, possibly the most famous street in the world.
Le Grand Palais
L'Hotel des Invalides
A westerly view from the tower.  The large building near the foreground surrounded by trees is Le Grand Palais, and you get a nice view of some of the many bridges along the Seine as well.  Sorry it is a little fuzzy, they're better in person.  So come visit.  Visit!  Visit, I say!
A more southerly view from the tower.  The building with the golden dome is L'Hotel des Invalides, the veterans hospital where Napoleon is buried.
Le Musee d'Orsay
If you don't know what this is, you need help.
Le Musee d'Orsay from the boat.  It was originally a train station but was converted to a museum for art from the 19th and early 20th centuries, mainly, in 1984 (or thereabouts.)  They have lots of lovely Art Nouveau there, and when we went there later Dave bought me a lovely Art Nouveau mirror as a present.  Isn't he sweet? :)
After we got back on the ground we decided to go on a short cruise along the Seine so we wouldn't have to carry our backpacks. :)  This is a shot of the Eiffel Tower from the boat, and yes, I know it's crooked. :P
