"Occupied
Territories"... What does it mean? Why our mind is led to
identify such definition with a very specific geographic area?
Aren't there many occupied territories in the world? And if so,
who are the occupants?...
Let's consider
some territories that are a people's homeland but have been
invaded and occupied by others, yet, they are not addressed to as
"Occupied Territories"!
*
Euskadi
Euskadi is the national name of the
Basque people's homeland. Basques, a people thet very likely
emigrated from Caucasus in ancient times, settled in the area of
the Pyrenees before Romans conquered the Iberian Peninsula. This
was the first occupation of their land, that never achieved
independence. After Romans there came Goths, French and
Spaniards. These two nations still occupy Euskadi, yet, nobody in
the "free and democratic" western society and mass
media says that they are "Occupied Territories", and
nobody requires that Spain and France withdraw their occupation
from that country!
There is in Euskadi a movement for the
independence, the Euskara Ta Askatasuna (ETA): they are
considered "terrorists", and indeed they are... alike
the Palestinian groups! Yet, by a mysterious reason, the
Palestinians are not addressed as terrorists but as
"patriots"!
*
Ulster
Ulster is the Northern Ireland, a natural
part of the island that is the Irish people's homeland. The whole
Ireland has been occupied by British -coming from another
completely separated island, the Great Britain- for many
centuries, until recent times, when most of the country achieved
independence. But most of the Ulster, the Northern Ireland, is
still occupied by British troops! Oh, but British are civilised
people, they can do that!... I've never heard anybody address the
Northern Ireland as "Occupied Territories", yet, they
are!
There is also in Ulster a movement for
independence and re-unification with the Republic of Ireland: the
Irish Republican Army (IRA): they are considered
"terrorists",too, and indeed they are... alike the
Palestinian groups! Yet, by a mysterious reason, the Palestinians
are not addressed as terrorists but as "patriots"!
*
Saharawi Republic
This is the former Spanish Sahara, that
was supposed to become an independent state for the Saharawi
people. But this never happened; the Moroccans have occupied
illegally the country and almost the whole Saharawi people are
exiled! Why the "free and democratic" western states
have never forced the muslim Moroccans to withdraw their troops
to allow Saharawis have an independent homeland? Saharawis have
not a terroristic movement, so they have no means to be heard by
anyone! It seems that the only way to catch the attention of
"democratic" states is to use illegal terroristic
means... like Palestinians. Of course, such means should not be
used against "democratic" states like the United
Kingdom, France or Spain, because that is terrorism, not
patriotism! The same means used against Israel are widely
approved by western states! Why?
*
Assyria
Assyrians have been denied a homeland
since ancient times, and their land has undergone different
occupations, until almost the whole Assyrian people had to choose
exile to survive. They have undergone persecution and genocide.
Assyrians are widespread in many nations, and neglected. Their
country is now occupied by Iraq and Turkey. I invite you to visit
the official Assyrian website... you will be astonished!
Assyria on line
*
Kurdistan
Kurds are strongly claiming for an
independent homeland. Their movements for liberation are
addressed by Turkey as "terroristic"... ofcourse,
Turkey is a NATO member! Turkey cannot be deceived by her western
"democratic" allies, and Kurds cannot be considered
patriots as Palestinians...
Kurds have played an important role in
the past against Assyrians; now they are undergoing the same
situation their victims lived... In fact, not all the territories
they claim to be Kurdistan belongs to them: part of these lands
are Assyria, and another part should be given back to Armenia.
*
Palestine?
History attests that it never existed any
Palestinian people, as well as a Palestinian culture, a
Palestinian nation, and less than least, a Palestinian state!
It's a pure invention! Those nowadays known as
"Palestinians" are Arabs, that settled in Eretz Yisrael
to contrast Jewish inmigration. They came from Arab countires. In
fact, when the State of Israel was finally re-born, no
Palestinian state existed!
A
brief history report:
Judea was a Roman province for a little
more than one century. On 9th Av 3830 (70 CE), Romans
demolished the Temple and the city of Yerushalayim, and Jews were
scattered throughout the empire: this event marked the beginning
of the great Diaspora.
Romans wanted to wipe the memory of the
name of Israel out of history, and according to the name of a
people which by that time was already unidentifiable as
disappeared several centuries before, the Philistines (Pelesati),
they called Palestine the country of Eretz Yisrael. This
absolutely illegitimate and improper name is still used even
though there is not any basis, neither ethnical nor historical,
to keep such name. In the beginning the Diaspora concerned the
whole Roman Empire besides Hebrews already living in the East.
Then it happened also the expulsion of Jews out of the imperial
frontiers, and they had to emigrate in Northern Europe, the
Danube and Eastern steppes.
Shoah
"They lay crafty plans against your
people they say: 'come, let us wipe them out as a nation; let the
name of Israel be remembered no more'."
Tehilim 83:3-4
(Psalm 83:3-4)
This verse of the Hebrew Scriptures
reports the mind of ancient peoples, but has been always a
topical interest within western societies and also within islamic
system towards Israelites. This attitude has been handed down in
the course of time and has crossed all borders throughout every
nation. Romans tried to wipe out from memory the name of Eretz
Yisrael and Yerushalayim, and have left this inheritance to
European states.
The history of Israelites has always been
a succession of grievous periods and quiet times, of persecutions
and exiles. The inquisition, expulsion decrees, ghettos,
pogroms,...
Many Jews found asylum in Russia, where
society was much more tolerant and even hospitable, although when
government authorities have not always been alike. Nevertheless,
both peoples have been scattered in all European states and
persecutions have never ceased definitively, until reaching the
darkest period of the whole history of mankind: the Shoah, the
"desolation" rather than "holocaust", which
implies a voluntary sacrifice.
I do not think that it is necessary to
write here about all what happened during the Shoah, but I want
to assert that the hideous crimes committed by nazis are
ascribable to all European states and the Vatican, that were
aware of the facts that were happening and have not tried to
prevent them. They have given tacit consent to the extermination
policy and have taken action only when it was too late. The
distressful view left at the end of that war reminds us of the
vision of Prophet Yehezkiel, ch. 37: "The Lord brought me
out by the Spirit and set me down in the midst of the valley,
which was full of bones there were very many upon the valley, and
lo, they were very dry. And the Lord said to me: 'Son of man, can
these bones live?' these bones are the whole house of Israel.
Behold, they say: 'Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost;
we are clean cut off !'
Thus says the Lord God to these bones:
'Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live!'
And as I looked, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come
upon them, and skin had covered them and the Spirit came into
them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly
great hostThus says the Lord God: 'Behold, I will open your
graves, and raise you O my people, and I will bring you home into
Eretz Yisrael'." (Yehezkiel 37:1-14)
And so it was; from those dry bones arose
a nation: Medinat Yisrael.
This resurrection did not happen without
struggle: it was since a long time before that, according to the
Balfour Agreement, the British Mandate of "Palestine"
should have given up its place to the Hebrew State. This
agreement was not respected by the British government, which gave
more than 80% of that land as a present to muslims. A territory
that, before Jewish immigration did not interest anybody; Eretz
Yisrael was since Romans' times an arid and almost uninhabited
country, a desert where only some Bedouins passed by... Jews
began to buy at very expensive prices their own land, and that
aroused Arabs' policy of parallel immigration. These Arabs,
coming from neighbouring countries, began to settle in Eretz
Yisrael in opposition to Jewish immigration. In this way was born
a nationality created "on purpose", the Palestinians,
who are not an ethnic entity at all, but a mixture of Arabs from
various origins, Arabs like their relatives who remain in Arabia,
Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, etc.
The Shoah became a reason by which the
nations were no longer able to deny Jews' right to their own
homeland, and the British Mandate had to hand over the remainder
of that country to the people of Israel. A people that had just
come through slaughter, that was impoverished and unarmed, had to
take possession of a strip of land that nine islamic nations were
ready to occupy by the armed forces. The West had in this way
believed to liquidate the Jewish issue, entrusting muslims to
complete what nazis left unfinished. That State, born in war on 5
Iyar 5708 (1948 CE), achieved victory over an enemy that was
about forty times stronger, an enemy that continued to take up
arms because it cannot admit the existence of a free and
democratic State in the Middle East; therefore, a new aggression
took place in 5727 1967 CE). Once again, in only six days, the
people of Israel inflicted a heavy defeat to the armed forces of
seven nations, and re-conquered what by legitimate right belongs
to Israel: Yerushalayim city, all the land to the west of the
Jordan river, the Golan
A new attempt to annihilate Israel
happened in 5734 (1973-74 CE), in the war of Yom Kippur. Israel
could have resolved definitively the problem and rendered the
enemy harmless, but western nations have still interfered until
now to stop the Israeli Army and save the humiliated dignity of
muslim states. The conspiracy against Israel goes on, but Israel
will overcome!
But, in a way, the Israeli territories of
Judea and Samaria are "Occupied Territories"; yes,
illegally occupied by Arabs (so-called "Palestinians"),
who have obtained the right to rule on cities like Hevron,
Bet-Lechem, Nablus (Samaria) and other cities that historically
belong to Canaan and Israel. They have taken authority on these
and other towns by deceiving the United Nations. They have not
right on any little piece of the Holy Land, and they will never
have! The Palestinian state is an invention, as it has never
existed before, as any Palestinian people, culture, language or
civilization does not exist. They are 100% Arabs, and their
origins are not in Eretz Yisrael...
The Holy Land is holy because of Israel
and nobody else, because of the Prophets that even Islam
recognizes as Israeli Prophets; Mosheh (Musa), Aharon (Harun),
David (Dawd), Yeshu'a (Isa)... No Arab prophet has ever possessed
any little piece of the Holy Land!
Now, I will discuss four reasons
why Israel is entitled to the land they have and that it should
not be a part of the peace process.
1) ARCHEOLOGY
The first reason is that Israel
has the right to the land because of all of the archeological
evidence. All the archeological evidence supports it. Every time
there is a dig in Israel, it does nothing but support the fact
that Israelis have had a presence there for more than 3,000
years. The coins, the cities, the pottery, the culture. It
predates any claims that other peoples in the region may have.
Palestinians have self-called
that way attempting to recall the ancient Philistines, therefore,
trying to prove any historical right to the possession of that
land. The ancient Philistines are extinct. And in any case,
the ancient Philistines were foreign invaders coming from
Crete and Asia minor. They have never been native people of
ancient Canaan! Many other ancient peoples are extinct. They
do not have the unbroken line to this date that the Israelis have.
Even the Egyptians of today are not racial Egyptians of 2,000 or
3,000 years ago, except the Coptic minority, that is
discriminated by the muslim majority. Most Egyptians are
primarily an Arab people. The land is called Egypt, but they are
not the same racial and ethnic stock as the old Egyptians of the
ancient world.
The Israelis are in fact
descended from the original Israelites.
2) HISTORY
The second proof of Israel's
right to the land is the historic right. History supports it
totally and completely. We know there has been an Israel up
until the time of the Roman Empire. The Romans conquered the
land. Israel had no homeland, although Jews were allowed to live
there. They were driven from the land in two dispersions: One in
70 C.E. and the other in 135 C.E. But there was always a Jewish
presence in the land.
The Turks, who took over
about 700 years ago and ruled the land up until about World War
One, had control. Then the land was conquered by the British.
The Turks entered World War One on the side of Germany. The
British knew they had to do something to punish Turkey, and also
to break up that empire that was going to be a part of the whole
effort of Germany in World War One. So the British sent troops
against the Turks in the Holy Land.
One of the generals who was
leading the British armies was a man named Allenby.
Allenby sent World War One
biplanes over the city of Jerusalem to do a reconnaissance
mission. You have to understand that the Turks had at that time
never seen an airplane. So there they were, flying around. They
looked in the sky and saw these fascinating inventions and did
not know what they were, and they were terrified by them.
Then they were told they were
going to be opposed by a man named Allenby the next day, which
means, in their language, "man sent from God" or
"prophet from God." They dared not fight against a
prophet from God, so the next morning, when Allenby went to take
Jerusalem, he went in and captured it without firing a single
shot.
The British at that time said
they were going to give back the Jewish people their homeland.
That is all written down in history. They were gratified that the
Jewish people, the bankers, came through and helped finance the
war.
The homeland that Britain
said it would set aside consisted of all of what is now Israel
and all of what was then the nation of Jordan -- the whole thing.
That was what Britain promised to give the Jews in 1917. In
the beginning, there was some Arab support for this action. There
was not a huge Arab population in the land at that time, and
there is a reason for that. The land was not able to sustain a
large population of people. It just did not have the development
it needed to handle those people, and nobody really wanted this
land. It was considered to be worthless land.
Mark Twain -- Samuel Clemens --
took a tour of Canaan in 1867. This is how he described that
land. We are talking about Israel now. He said: "A
desolate country whose soil is rich enough but is given over
wholly to weeds. A silent, mournful expanse. We never saw a human
being on the whole route. There was hardly a tree or a shrub
anywhere. Even the olive and the cactus, those fast friends of a
worthless soil, had almost deserted the country."
Where was this great
Palestinian nation? It did not exist! It was not there.
Palestinians were not there. Palestine was a region named by
the Romans, but at that time it was under the control of Turkey,
and there was no large mass of people there because the land
would not support them.
This is the report that the
Palestinian Royal Commission, created by the British, made. It
quotes an account of the conditions on the coastal plain along
the Mediterranean Sea in 1913. The Palestinian Royal Commission
said:
"The road leading from
Gaza to the north was only a summer track, suitable for transport
by camels or carts. No orange groves, orchards or vineyards were
to be seen until one reached the Yavnev village. Houses were mud.
Schools did not exist. The western part toward the sea was almost
a desert. The villages in this area were few and thinly
populated. Many villages were deserted by their
inhabitants."
That was 1913.
The French author Voltaire
described Palestine as "a hopeless, dreary place."
In short, under the Turks the land suffered from neglect and low
population. That is a historic fact. The nation became
populated by both Jews and Arabs because the land came to prosper
when Jews came back and began to reclaim it. If there had
never been any archaeological evidence to support the rights of
the Israelis to the territory, it is also important to recognize
that other nations in the area have no longstanding claim to the
country either.
Did you know that Saudi Arabia
was not created until 1913, Lebanon until 1920? Iraq did not
exist as a nation until 1932, Syria until 1941. The borders of
Jordan were established in 1946 and Kuwait in 1961. Any of these
nations that would say Israel is only a recent arrival would have
to deny their own rights as recent arrivals as well. They did not
exist as countries. They were all under the control of the Turks.
Historically, Israel gained its
independence in 1948.
3) AGRICULTURE
The third reason that land
belongs to Israel is the practical value of the Israelis being
there. Israel today is a modern marvel of agriculture. Israel
is able to bring more food out of a desert environment than any
other country in the world. The Arab nations ought to make
Israel their friend and import technology from Israel that would
allow all the Middle East, not just Israel, to become an exporter
of food. Israel has unarguable success in its agriculture. Arabs
have proved along their whole history to be completely unable to
develop agriculture. Wherever they have invaded, the land became
dry and arid just consider Spain, a very fertile land in
Romans times, after seven centuries of Arab rule it is still the
most desertic country in Europe. Sicily was also the granary of
Italy before the three-century Arab occupation. Yemen was the
richest land in the Middle East before islamic times. Arabs
destroyed all the dams and water reserves, transforming Yemen in
the wilderness it is today.
4) ROADBLOCK TO TERRORISM
The fourth reason is that Israel
is a roadblock to terrorism. The war we are now facing is not
against a sovereign nation; it is against a group of terrorists
who are very fluid, moving from one country to another. They are
almost invisible. That is whom we are fighting against today. We
need every ally we can get. If we do not stop terrorism in the
Middle East, it will be on our shores.
Since the independence in 1948, Israel
has fought four wars: The 1948 War of Independence, the 1956
Sinai campaign, the 1967 Six Day War, and the 1973 Yom Kippur
War. In all four cases, Israel was attacked. They were
not the aggressor. Some people may argue that this was not
true because they went in first in 1956, but they knew at that
time that Egypt was building a huge military to become the
aggressor. Israel, in fact, was not the aggressor and has not
been the aggressor in any of the four wars.
Also, they won all four wars
against impossible odds. They are great warriors. They
consider a level playing field being outnumbered 20-to-1.
Muslims' pride is also strongly humiliated by the fact that
Israeli women-soldiers are among their victors, and as it is
well-known, women are hardly a little more worthy than things for
muslims...
Local people in television and
radio often criticize Israel, not knowing the true facts. We need
to be informed. . If Israel were driven into the sea tomorrow, if
every Jew in the Middle East were killed, terrorism would not
end. You know that in your heart. Terrorism would continue. It is
not just a matter of Israel in the Middle East. It is the heart
of the very people who are perpetrating this stuff. Should they
be successful in overrunning Israel -- which they won't be -- but
should they be, it would not be enough. They will never be
satisfied. Muslims want to conquer the whole world, with the
sword, as in Muhammads times. They do not respect anybody.
They pretend in turn to be respected, not to be attacked during
their religious feasts, but they take any occasion to attack
Israel during Jewish festivals. They do not allow religious
freedom in their countries, but they want to build mosques in
every non-muslim country.
At Camp David in the summer of
2000, then-Prime Minister of Israel Ehud Barak offered the most
generous concessions to Yasser Arafat that had ever been laid on
the table. He offered him more than 90 percent of all the West
Bank territory, sovereign control of it. There were some parts he
did not want to offer, but in exchange he said he would give up
land in Israel proper that the PLO had not even asked for.
And he also did the unthinkable.
He even spoke of dividing Jerusalem and allowing the Palestinians
to have their capital there. Yasser Arafat stormed out of the
meeting. Why did he storm out of the meeting? Everything he said
he wanted was offered there. It was put into his hands. Why did
he storm out of the meeting? A couple of months later, there
began to be riots, terrorism. The riots began when now-Prime
Minister Ariel Sharon went to the Temple Mount. And this was used
as the thing that lit the fire and caused the explosion. Did you
know that Sharon did not go unannounced and that he contacted the
Islamic authorities before he went and secured their permission
to be there? It was no surprise.
The response was very carefully
calculated. They knew the world would not pay attention to the
details. They would portray this in the Arab world as an attack
upon the holy mosque and use it as an excuse to riot. Over the
last eight years, during this time of the peace process, where
the Israeli public has pressured its leaders to give up land for
peace because they are tired of fighting, there has been
increased terror.
In fact, it has been greater in
the last eight years than any other time in Israel's history.
Showing restraint and giving in has not produced any kind of
peace. It is so much so that today the leftist peace movement in
Israel does not exist because the people feel they were deceived.
They offered a hand of peace, and it was not taken. That is why
the politics of Israel have changed drastically over the past 12
months. The Israelis have come to see that, "No matter what
we do, these people do not want to deal with us... They want to
destroy us."
That is why even yet today the
stationery of the PLO still has upon it the map of the entire
state of Israel, not just the little part they call the West
Bank. They want it all.
We have to get out of this
mindset that somehow you can buy peace in the Middle East by
giving little plots of land. It has not worked before when it has
been offered.
These four reasons show why
Israel is entitled to that land.
JERUSALEM
If you believe what you read in most news
sources, palestinians want a "homeland" and muslims
want control over sites they consider "holy".
The fact that Jerusalem is the FIRST and
MOST IMPORTANT HOLY PLACE for JEWS seems to be irrelevant, while
muslims claim that Jerusalem is their THIRD holy place...
These are just phony excuses for the
rioting, trouble-making and land-grabbing. It is interesting that
prior to the 1967 Arab-Israeli war, there was no serious movement
for a palestinian homeland... You might say, that was before the
Israelis seized West Bank and Old Jerusalem. That's true. In the
Six-Day War, Israel re-conquered Judea, Samaria and East
Jerusalem. But they didn't capture these territories from any
palestinian state! They re-conquered them from Jordan. Why all
these palestinians suddenly discovered their national identity
after Israel won the war? The truth is that Palestine is no more
real than Eldorado or Lilliput.
The first time the name was used was in
70 CE when the Romans committed genocide against the Jews,
smashed the Temple and declared the land of Israel would be no
more. From then on, the Romans promised, it would be known as
Palestine. The name was derived from the Philistines, an ancient
people conquered by the Jews centuries earlier and by that time
no longer existing since some centuries. It was a way for the
Romans to add insult to injury. They also tried to change the
name of Jerusalem to Aelia Capitolina, but that had even less
staying power.
Palestine has never existed - before or
since - as an autonomous entity. There is no language known as
palestinian. There is no distinct palestinian culture. There has
never been a land known as Palestine governed by palestinians.
Palestinians are Arabs, indistinguishable from Jordanians
(another recent invention), Syrians, Lebanese, Iraqis, etc.
The Arabs control 99.9 percent of the
Middle East lands. Israel represents one-tenth of 1 percent of
the landmass. But that is too much for the Arabs. They want it
all. And that is ultimately what the fighting in Israel is about
today. Greed. Pride. Envy. Covetousness. No matter how many land
concessions the Israelis make, it will never be enough.
What about Islam's holy sites? There are
none in Jerusalem! I don't expect you will ever hear this plain
truth from anybody in the international media. It's just not
politically correct. I know what you're going to say: "the
Al Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem represent
Islam's third most holy sites." Not true. In fact, the Qoran
says nothing about Jerusalem. It mentions Mecca hundreds of
times. It mentions Medina countless times. It never mentions
Jerusalem. With good reason. There is no historical evidence to
suggest Mohammed ever visited Jerusalem. So how did Jerusalem
become the third holiest site of Islam? Muslims today cite a
vague passage in the Qoran, the seventeenth sura, entitled
"The Night Journey." It relates that in a dream or a
vision Mohammed was carried by night "from the sacred temple
to the temple that is most remote, whose precinct we have
blessed, that we might show him our signs....." some muslims
identified the two temples mentioned in this verse as being in
Mecca and Jerusalem. And that's as close as Islam's connection
with Jerusalem gets - myth, fantasy, wishful thinking. Jerusalem
was identified by imams as the mythic "Al Quds" after
the Zionist movement encouraged Jews to settle in Eretz
Yisrael... but we know how much accurate are Arabs with regards
to history and geography... just have a look to the "1001
Nights" or the Qoran itself... Al Quds is no more real than
Camelot! I suggest you to read the Qoran and try to find if
Jerusalem is mentioned any time... you will find many history
mistakes, instead - for instance, Maryam, sister of Harun
(Aharon) is the same person that Maryam the mother of Jesus, no
matter that there is a gap of over 1200 years between one and the
other!... also Haman, who was a Persian visir, is said to be
Pharaoh's minister! This is the reliability of muslim sources to
claim for their legitimate rights!
Meanwhile, Jews have proved that their
roots have close relationship with Mount Zion since the days of
Avraham. King David founded Jerusalem and made of her the capital
of the Kingdom of Israel - when Arabs were still not a definite
nation...
Can you imagine what it is like for Jews
to be threatened, stoned and physically kept out of the holiest
site in Judaism? So what is the solution to the Middle East? If
there is one, it needs to begin with truth. Pretending will only
lead to more chaos. Treating a 5,000-year-old birthright backed
by overwhelming historical and archaeological evidence equally
with illegitimate claims, wishes and wants gives diplomacy and
peacekeeping a bad name.
Nationhood
and Jerusalem
Israel became a nation in more than two
thousand years before the rise of Islam. Arab refugees in Israel
began identifying themselves as part of a palestinian people in
1967, two decades after the establishment of the modern State of
Israel. Since the Israeli conquest in Yehoshua's times, Jews have
had dominion over the land for one thousand years with a
continuous presence in the land for the past 3,300 years. The
only Arab dominion since the conquest in 635 CE lasted no more
than 22 years. For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem has been the
Jewish capital. Jerusalem has never been the capital of any Arab
or muslim entity. Even when the Jordanians occupied Jerusalem,
they never sought to make her their capital, and Arab leaders did
not come to visit Jerusalem.
Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in
the Bible (Tanach), the Jewish Holy Scriptures. Jerusalem is not
mentioned once in the Qoran. King David founded the city of
Jerusalem. Mohammed never came to Jerusalem. Jews pray facing
Jerusalem. Muslims pray with their backs toward Jerusalem...
Arab and Jewish Refugees: In 1948 the
Arab "refugees" were encouraged to leave Israel by Arab
leaders promising to purge the land of Jews.
Almost 70 percent left without ever
seeing an Israeli soldier. The Jewish refugees were forced to
flee from Arab lands due to Arab brutality, persecution and
pogroms. If there are Mizrachi and Sephardi Jews settled today in
Israel, it is because Arabs have expelled them from the lands
where those Jews were living for many centuries! Arabs sent Jews
to Israel, now they want to expel them also from there! The
number of Arab refugees who left Israel in 1948 is estimated to
be around 630,000. The number of Jewish refugees that were forced
out from Arab lands is estimated to be some more than that...
Arab "refugees" were intentionally not absorbed or
integrated into the Arab lands to which they fled, despite the
vast Arab territory (Israel is 1% of all Arab Lands). Out of the
100,000,000 refugees since World War II, theirs is the only
refugee group in the world that has never been absorbed or
integrated into their own peoples' lands. Jewish refugees were
completely absorbed into Israel, a country no larger than the
island of Sicily.
The Arab - Israeli Conflict: The Arab
nations initiated all five wars against Israel and were defeated.
Israel defended herself each time and won. The P.L.O.'s Charter
still calls for the destruction of the State of Israel. Israel
has given the palestinians most of the West Bank land, autonomy
under the Palestinian Authority, and has supplied them with
weapons which is used against the Israeli people. Under Jordanian
rule, Jewish holy sites were desecrated and the Jews were denied
access to places of worship. Under Israeli rule, all muslim and
christian sites have been preserved and made accessible to people
of all faiths.
The U.N. Record on Israel
and the Arabs:
Of the 175 Security Council resolutions
passed before 1990, 97 were directed against Israel. Of the 690
General Assembly resolutions voted on, before 1990, 429 were
directed against Israel. The U.N was silent while 58 Jerusalem
Synagogues were destroyed by the Jordanians. The U.N. was silent
while the Jordanians systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish
cemetery on the Mount of Olives. The U.N. was silent while the
Jordanians enforced an apartheid-like policy of preventing Jews
from visiting the Temple Mount and the Western Wall. These are
incredible times...
The U.N. is still approving the
terroristic policy of the Palestinian Authority, requiring that
Israel withdraw the Defence troops from the terrorists' den, in
order they can go on murdering innocent people, women and
children!!!
