TEASER

1 INT.  JADE’S BEDROOM - NIGHT - PAST 1

CAMERA moves very slowly through the window from outside and pans
across the room.

            JORDAN V.O.
It seemed that Jade forgave Tyrone very easily for kissing Louise, but the reality is that it took a lot longer than that for them to be ok again.

Camera pans across a table reaching the bottom corner of a photo frame.

            JORDAN V.O. (cont’d)
Although Louise herself had continued in her attempts to get to Tyrone, it was clear that Tyrone had made           his choice and Jade was his only love.

Camera pans up to a photo of Tyrone and Jade smiling together, then pans across the rest of the table.

            JORDAN V.O. (cont’d)
It was now six years later, and so much had happened. As well as growing apart from her cousin Leroy and becoming friends with Jade, Louise had learnt the painful lesson that although sex is power, she is not always the one in control of that power. Jonathan’s girlfriend Emma had had a baby named Max, making Jonathan a father, but not necessarily a responsible one; and I was comfortable in a relationship with my girlfriend Fliss who had become very close with Jade.

           FLISS V.O.
Tell me more. Tell me what happened next.

           JADE V.O.
It was something I couldn’t believe.

CLOSE ON:

One set of legs comes off the bed. The left leg kneels down and the right leg is upright to support it. The camera pans up to reveal it is TYRONE. The camera pans

WIDE

further to reveal Tyrone is holding JADE’s hand.

            TYRONE
Jade, being with you has meant a great deal to me, and since this is your day, I’d like to give you the biggest        birthday surprise of all. So Jade…

            FLISS V.O.
      And then? And then?

            JADE V.O.
Fliss, ssshhh! I’m getting to it.

            TYRONE
…will you do me a favour?

Jade is looking into Tyrone’s eyes curiously.

             JADE
        Anything.

             TYRONE
        Will you er… marry me?

There is a beat as Jade looks into Tyrone’s eyes with amazement.
Tyrone reaches into his left shirt pocket and takes out a small box. Tyrone opens a box to reveal a ring with a Jade diamond. Jade looks at the ring and smiles.

             JADE
        Oh Tyrone!

             TYRONE
Do I take that as a yeah?

Jade thinks for a second, before looking directly at Tyrone.

              JADE
         That’s a hell yeah!

Jade grabs Tyrone’s face with her hands and gives him a lingering single kiss. Tyrone then begins to put the ring on Jade’s finger.

2 INT.  JADE’S BEDROOM - NIGHT - PRESENT   2

Fliss is looking at Jade as she thinks back to that night.

             FLISS
Wow! I so love hearing that.

            JADE
        And I love reliving it.

Jade looks at the photo of her and Tyrone, and then focuses on the photo of Tamera.

Jade and TAMERA are sitting on a bench.

          TAMERA
What else that I haven’t done for you before, would you like me to do for this Birthday?

         JADE
        (smiling)
A cake would be nice… that you made for me yourself

         TAMERA
Jade, I’ve never made a cake before.

         JADE
Then I guess that’ll make it the best cake you’ve ever done.

         TAMERA
Didn’t Tyrone say he had plans for you later? I know I only live a few blocks away, but by the time I finish        work and considering the time it takes to make the cake, I’ll have to do some serious running.

           JADE
      You don’t have to.

           TAMERA
Look, I’ll do whatever makes you happy.

INTERCUT WITH:

JORDAN V.O. (cont’d)
However unfortunately, we had lost a dear friend.
These events that we were never prepared for changed our lives. And now, even more changes were afoot, and as before we were all unprepared for what was about to happen…

16 INT.  JADE’S BEDROOM - PRESENT - AS BEFORE  16

   FLISS
  You must be so excited.

   JADE
   (reluctantly)
Yeah. It’s gonna be the best day of my life.

ACT ONE

17 INT.  BUS - MORNING 17

LOUISE and JONATHAN are sitting together at the back of a crowded bus. They aren’t talking to each other. Jonathan looks to his right and sees a DRUNKEN MAN holding a Barney cuddly toy. He is talking to Barney.

          DRUNKEN MAN
You really get on my nerves. And you wanna know why? It’s cuz you’re always singing!

Jonathan looks to his left to see an IRISH MAN talking on his mobile phone.

          IRISH MAN
I don’t know where the hell this bus is going! I’ll find out when we get there!

The Irish Man moves to the front of the bus. Louise seems distracted, so Jonathan tries to start a conversation.

          JONATHAN
Did you see what that man looked like? Seriously, I wonder if ugly people should even have children. What do you think?

      LOUISE
No! And I’ve already told your parents.

Jonathan sighs. There is an uncomfortable silence. Jonathan tries to start another conversation.

  JONATHAN
I’ve got a joke for you. Knock knock.

  LOUISE
  (sighing)
Who’s there?

   JONATHAN
Amos.

   LOUISE
Amos who?

   JONATHAN
A mosquito bit me. Knock knock.

   LOUISE
Who’s there?

   JONATHAN
Andy.

   LOUISE
  (sighing)
Andy who?

   JONATHAN
And he bit me again.

Louise doesn’t laugh and there is another uncomfortable silence until

   JONATHAN (cont’d)
Have you ever tried yawning on a bus?

LOUISE
I don’t really keep track of when I yawn.

  JONATHAN
Well, I find yawning is very contagious. Watch!

Jonathan stretches his arm behind his head and lets out a big yawn.

   JONATHAN (cont’d)
  Now watch everyone.

Louise looks at the other people on the bus. Slowly, but surely, one-person yawns followed by two more, until about five other people are yawning.

  JONATHAN (cont’d)
See? Isn’t that bizarre?

Louise isn’t really listening.

   LOUISE
  Wonderful.

Jonathan looks at Louise unimpressed.

   LOUISE (cont’d)
I’m not ready to do this.

   JONATHAN
We’re virtually there already. You can’t back out now.

   LOUISE
I think I should forget the whole thing.

   JONATHAN
Don’t do that. It’s the anniversary since he was put inside, and you’ve been building up the courage to do this for I don’t know how long. If you back out, I can almost promise you’ll regret it.

LOUISE
I just can’t do it. I’m sorry but I can’t. I won’t.

JONATHAN
Don’t say sorry to me, you’re doing this for yourself. To be successful you have to believe you can and you will, not you can’t and you won’t. Look, you can do this. You’re a strong person. You have courage, confidence and strength.

LOUISE
What came after courage?

JONATHAN
Louise.

LOUISE
Can you come with me? I still have a long journey after you get off.

JONATHAN
I’d love to, but I have some business I have to take care of.

LOUISE
Finally got a new job, huh?

JONATHAN
Well no. I’m waiting on a call about that.

LOUISE
So you mean you’re finally going to see Emma again?

JONATHAN
Not really in the cards! I’m gonna see Tyrone. Jordan’s arranged a get-together. It’s not really a bachelor party, just a chance for us to spend one last night together while he’s still single. His freedom ends when he gets married after all.

LOUISE
And going to what is not really a bachelor party is more important than making time to see the mother of your son, huh? And you have a go at me about backing out of things!

JONATHAN
Ok fine. If you go ahead with what you’ve gotta do, I’ll make time later, to see Emma. Deal?

LOUISE
Deal.

JONATHAN
Ok, this is my stop. Good luck! Remember, courage, confidence…

LOUISE
-Got it!

As Jonathan stands up and prepares to get off the bus, Louise nervously thinks to herself.

18 EXT.  TYRONE’S HOME - MORNING  18

19 INT.  TYRONE’S BEDROOM - MORNING         19

Tyrone is busy trying on a suit in front of the mirror. Tyrone picks up a tie and begins to put it on. Jordan is sitting on a chair reading a magazine. Jordan doesn’t take his eyes off his magazine.

  JORDAN
Amazing Ty.

  TYRONE
I know.

Tyrone looks down at his undone tie.

   TYRONE (cont’d)
I bought it at Top Man.

  JORDAN
No. You look amazing Ty.

Tyrone looks at his reflection in the mirror, and then notices that Jordan hasn’t taken his eyes off his magazine.

  TYRONE
You know Jordan, I’m worried I’m gonna make a bad impression. Do you realise the pressure I’m under to make things perfect? I’m so nervous I can’t even remember how to do up a tie properly.

Jordan frustratingly puts his magazine down and walks up to Tyrone.

   JORDAN
Well I can think of several reasons why you’re nervous. Let’s see. One, maybe you’re worried about your vows. Don’t worry, I hear the Vicar says them and all you have to do is copy what he says.

Tyrone looks at Jordan sarcastically. Jordan starts to do up Tyrone’s tie.

   JORDAN (cont’d)
Or maybe two, you think you’re not good enough for Jade. Trust me you are. You’re smart, kind, caring, and as your friend, I know all this.

Jordan finishes doing Tyrone’s tie.

   JORDAN (cont’d)
  There.

Tyrone takes a closer look at himself in the mirror. Jordan walks back to his chair and sits down.

JORDAN (cont’d)
Oh, and three, maybe you’re still worried that Jade isn’t the one for you.

TYRONE
She is. (thoughtfully) I know she is.

Tyrone and Jordan hear the doorbell ring. They both leave the bedroom and

20 INT.  TYRONE’S HOME  - STAIRWAY - MORNING      20

head downstairs.

          TYRONE
Let’s see who is gracing me with their appearance. It had better be someone interesting.

Tyrone and Jordan reach the

21 INT.  TYRONE’S HOME - FRONT DOOR - MORNING     21

Tyrone opens the front door to reveal Jonathan. Tyrone then closes the door and looks at Jordan.

  TYRONE
Nope. No one interesting.

Tyrone opens the front door again.

  TYRONE (cont’d)
I’m just kidding Jonathan. Come on in.

Jonathan enters and Tyrone closes the front door behind him.

22 INT.  JADE’S BATHROOM - MORNING      22

Jade is brushing her teeth in front of the mirror. Jade hears a knock on the door.

  JADE
Come in.

Fliss enters.

  FLISS
Morning Jade! Your Mom let me in.

  JADE
Hey Tamera!

Fliss looks shocked. Jade thinks solemnly for a second.

  JADE (cont’d)
I mean Fliss.

Jade turns to face Fliss.

   JADE (cont’d)
I’m sorry Fliss. It’s just that Tamera and I used to have a similar friendship to what we have. Before…

Jade’s voice begins to briefly soften.

  JADE (cont’d)
…heading to college, she’d always…

   FLISS
-Tamera would always stop by to pick you up, I know.

JADE
Fliss, I miss her so much!

Abruptly, Jade bursts into tears. Fliss rushes over to Jade.

  FLISS
It’s ok Jade, it’s ok.

Jade turns back to the mirror, quickly wiping the tears from her eyes. Jade’s voice is back to full strength.

   JADE
  You were going to say?

  FLISS
I was going to say- are you ready to start planning tonight?

JADE
I think so.

  FLISS
What time did Louise say she’d get here?

JADE
It’s the anniversary remember?

FLISS
Oh, yeah. Still, I hope she hurries up. Hen nights take planning!

23 INT.  TYRONE’S BEDROOM - EARLY AFTERNOON  23

Tyrone and Jordan are standing while Jonathan is on the carpet rustling through Tyrone’s music collection.

   JONATHAN
Now, bachelor parties take planning!

Jonathan stands up, walks over to Tyrone’s bed and sits on it. Tyrone looks at Jonathan disapprovingly.

  TYRONE
That’s my bed.

   JONATHAN
I know. It’s nice. Could add some bigger pillows but apart from that.

JORDAN
I think that means get off the bed.

JONATHAN
Get off the bed?

TYRONE
Get off the bed!

Jonathan immediately gets off the bed. As he does so, Jordan sits in the one chair. Tyrone now sits on his bed and Jonathan goes to sit on the carpet.

JONATHAN
Now about that music, what we need is ‘good’ music. You can play the keyboard, right Jordan?

JORDAN
As long as you don’t expect me to play any notes.

   JONATHAN
How about a stripper? I have this friend, who can get you the finest looking…

TYRONE
I’m not so sure about that. I don’t wanna disrespect Jade. I mean it’s not like she’d have a male stripper at her hen night.

24 INT.  JADE’S BEDROOM - EARLY AFTERNOON      24

Jade and Fliss are sitting on the bed.

  FLISS
Last thing on the list. Male stripper?

  JADE
Definitely.

  FLISS
Good, good! Now are we talking Busta Rhymes or Smallville’s Superman- Tom Welling?

JADE
LL Cool J!

FLISS
Check. And you’re not worried about what Tyrone will think of all this?

JADE
Not really! Besides, even if he’s not sure about having one, I’m sure the guys will try to persuade him to.

FLISS
You reckon?

25 INT.  TYRONE’S BEDROOM - EARLY AFTERNOON      25

    JORDAN          JONATHAN
  Please Tyrone!         Have the stripper!

ANGLE: TYRONE

  TYRONE
Fine, I’ll have the stripper.

ANGLE: JONATHAN

  JONATHAN
That’s my boy!

ANGLE: JORDAN

  JORDAN
You’re a true friend! I’m gonna call Leroy and tell him the good news.

Jordan exits.

ANGLE: Tyrone & Jonathan

  JONATHAN
Actually, maybe we should get Louise to be the stripper. What do you think Tyrone?

TYRONE
Don’t go there Jonathan!

JONATHAN
Don’t worry, I’m just kidding.

Tyrone looks at Jonathan, unimpressed.

  JONATHAN (cont’d)
You know, I think we’re pretty much ready. Ready to explore that wonderful verb known as- party!

TYRONE
Party isn’t a verb.

JONATHAN
Tyrone, party became a verb when we entered college.

26 EXT.  SUN  - DAY      26

Shot of the Sun, representing how some time has gone by.

27 INT.  JADE’S BEDROOM - LATE AFTERNOON     27

Jade is sitting on the carpet in front of her bed. Fliss is on the bed behind Jade, and is brushing Jade’s hair. The doorbell rings. Fliss stops brushing Jade’s hair and puts the brush down on the bed. Fliss gets off the bed and leaves the bedroom.

Jade stands up and heads to the nearby mirror. Jade begins to look at herself in the mirror. She looks at the reflection of her own eyes. She moves her head slightly to the right to see herself from a different angle. She then does the same with the left side. Jade brings her two index fingers up until they are touching the outside of her lips. She reaches nearby for a subtle pink lipstick, and puts the lipstick around her lips. Jade puts the lipstick down and looks again into her own eyes.

  LEROY O. S.
You look beautiful.

Jade smiles and turns towards her right.

  JADE
Hi…

The camera reveals LEROY, with Fliss standing slightly behind him.

  JADE (cont’d)
…Leroy.

Leroy looks into Jade’s eyes. Fliss notices this.

   FLISS (cont’d)
I’m gonna go text Louise and see where she is.

28 INT.  PRISON - LATE AFTERNOON     28

There is a large sheet of glass. On both sides is a chair. RUSS is sitting on his side.

Louise cautiously sits on her side. There is an uncomfortable silence, but it is clear that Louise is angry.

  RUSS
I didn’t think you’d come. I didn’t even expect you to read the letter I sent.

LOUISE
Then why send it Russ?

RUSS
A criminal counselor suggested that I write all of what I felt about what happened. My words gradually became several letters to you, and so I thought I should at least send one of them. I just hoped…

LOUISE
-You took away my hope. You took away my confidence to get the love of my life; you cast a shadow over my life.

RUSS
Louise, I just wanna say that I am so...

   LOUISE
-If you say you’re sorry to me, I will smash this glass and use a knife to slice your heart open! The very heart that I heard beating so heavily, that I couldn’t even hear my own while you…

RUSS
Louise how can I…?

LOUISE
You did enough! You raped me!

  RUSS
I know what I did. But you, you came here after all. You must have needed to see me.

LOUISE
I don’t need anything from you, and I didn’t come here for you. I came here for me. To show you that I’m not afraid of you anymore.

RUSS
You were never afraid of me. You were such a strong woman, so beautiful.

LOUISE
You have no right to call me that!

Louise stands up furious.

  LOUISE (cont’d)
You asshole! You have no right! You called me beautiful! That’s the worst thing you could ever call me!

RUSS
Louise, please!

There is a long beat as Louise attempts to let the anger evaporate from her. As Louise sits back down, Russ sees that she is crying.

  LOUISE
You just don’t get it! You just don’t get it. You caused so many scars. What you don’t realise is, although scars heal and fade, they always remain.

There is a brief silence.

  LOUISE (cont’d)
Why did you even ask me here? Do you regret any of what you did?

Tears begin to flow from Russ’ eyes.

  RUSS
I regret everything. Every day I am haunted, by all that I put you through. I asked you here, to try and make you understand that.

  LOUISE
You raped me. I understand perfectly.

   RUSS
You don’t realise how you have so much control over men, do you? How the way you can mesmerise a guy into doing anything for you since he wants you so much.

LOUISE
Why are you trying to transfer your feelings of guilt and shame to me? I’ve already had to deal with that. I’ve had to overcome feelings of guilt, shame, rage, worthlessness, and confusion with respect to my sexuality towards men. For God’s sake I was the victim here! But not anymore. You have helped me understand something. You’ve helped me understand that all these feelings that you’re going through now are the same feelings you went through then, and those are what led you to doing what you did to me. You haven’t changed a bit. You’re just more aware of it.

Louise stands up ready to leave.

  LOUISE (cont’d)
But let me tell you something, I’ve changed! I’ve grown and moved on, but I’ve also changed back to who I was before you did what you did. I’m a woman who knows what she wants and how to get it, and more importantly, I’m beyond you! And I’m gonna get my life back!

Louise exits, leaving Russ alone.

   BLACK OUT.

END OF ACT ONE

ACT TWO

29 INT.  JADE’S BEDROOM - LATE AFTERNOON       29

Jade is sitting on her bed next to Leroy.

   LEROY
Fliss is right. I shouldn’t try to ruin things for you and Tyrone tomorrow. Doesn’t stop me making a last ditch effort today though.

Jade stands up and goes to the nearby window.

   JADE
Come on Leroy. Don’t start that again.

   LEROY
Jade, I want you to choose me. Not him. I can offer you more than he can. I can offer you love.

JADE
Tyrone offers me love. He is my love.

LEROY
And you don’t think he still thinks about Louise?

JADE
Not anymore he doesn’t.

LEROY
Are you sure? She was the love of his life for years before you even entered his fantasies. And remember, even when you were together, he still ended up kissing Louise while you were away.

JADE
We got past that, years ago.

   LEROY
Years ago huh? And what about me? Even though Louise is my cousin, I stopped supporting her so I could stand by you. I transferred to your college after that first incident so I could spend more time with you. I’ve been loyal to you. Only you.

   JADE
You speak like you didn’t have any girlfriends.

   LEROY
I know I did, but none of them were you. And I never pretended any of them were. It was always about you. Unlike Tyrone who has always been drifting between you and Louise. And for ages, Louise kept trying to seduce him.

JADE
-But to no avail!

LEROY
And you don’t think that now Tyrone realises he has one night left as a bachelor, he won’t begin to wonder, just a little bit, about losing Louise?

Jade turns to face Leroy.

   JADE
Leroy stop! You’re forgetting that Louise hasn’t tried to make a move on Tyrone for as long as I can remember, and that she and I are now friends.

LEROY
You can never be friends as long as you keep fighting over the same guy.

The doorbell rings.

   FLISS O. S.
   (shouting)
  I got it!

Jade and Leroy hear Fliss’ voice, but then continue arguing.

   LEROY
One battle does not win a war Jade!

Fliss enters with Louise.

   LOUISE
Did I come at a bad time?

A beat.

   LEROY
No. I was just about to leave.

Leroy goes to leave, but then returns to Jade.

  LEROY (cont’d)
For the last time Jade, please choose me!

  JADE
For the last time Leroy, no! Tyrone is my fiancé, soon to be my husband!

Fliss and Louise watch Leroy leave. Jade quickly falls down to sitting on her bed. Concerned, Fliss rushes over to sit next to a frustrated Jade and looks at her comfortingly. Louise looks on.

    DISSOLVE TO:

30 EXT.  TYRONE’S HOME - NIGHT            30

Music can be heard coming from Tyrone’s home.

31 INT.  TYRONE’S HOME - NIGHT             31

ANGLE: FRONT DOOR

Jordan opens the front door and sees Leroy.

   JORDAN
  Hey Leroy!

Jordan closes the door behind Leroy.

   JORDAN (cont’d)
  Where have you been?

   LEROY
I had some things to take care of.

   JORDAN
Did you get your business over with?

   LEROY
  Yeah, it’s over.

   JORDAN
  You missed the stripper.

   LEROY
  Ah man!

Jordan and Leroy walk past the kitchen where four guys are hanging out. They head towards the

32 INT.  TYRONE’S LIVING ROOM - NIGHT          32

No one is dancing except for Jonathan who is thoroughly having a good time. Tyrone is sitting on his own in a corner. Jordan and Leroy walk over to Tyrone.

ANGLE: TYRONE’S SOFA

Jordan and Leroy sit either side of Tyrone.

  JORDAN
You know this is meant to be your party right?

  TYRONE
I’ve just got stuff on my mind. Sometimes I feel a lot older than I am.

  LEROY
Please. You're only as young as the woman you feel.

Jonathan walks up to where Tyrone, Jordan and Leroy are sitting.

   JONATHAN
You know you’re ruining the vibe Tyrone.

Jordan looks over at Leroy who is clearly depressed, before looking at Jonathan.

  JORDAN
  He’s not the only one.

Jordan and Jonathan both shrug and in unison take a swig of their drinks.

  JONATHAN
Well if nothing’s happening here, I’m gonna drop in on Emma. I kinda promised Louise I would.

JORDAN
Good for you.

Jonathan stands up.

   JONATHAN
  Later Jordan!

33 EXT.  JADE’S HOME - NIGHT      33

Louise is seen bringing some bottles to the front door.

34 INT. JADE’S KITCHEN - NIGHT      34

Fliss puts some food away in the fridge. While she is at it, she grabs a piece of chocolate and begins eating it. She then grabs another piece and puts it in her pocket for later.

Louise enters with the bottles.

  FLISS
Nice one.

Fliss puts the bottles in the fridge, grabs yet another piece of chocolate.

   FLISS (cont’d)
By the way, not to ruin your night, but while you were getting drinks, you missed the male stripper.

LOUISE
Damn it!

A drunk Jade enters. Jade walks up to Louise and addresses her.

  JADE
I have to tell you something. I think you’re beautiful. I think you’re sexy and everything. I can see why Tyrone would wanna do you. I’d wanna do you too. But sorry to say, I’m getting married tomorrow.

  FLISS
And you’re looking forward to that, right?

Jade turns to face Fliss.

  JADE
I am.

Jade turns back to Louise.

  JADE (cont’d)
But here’s the thing.

Jade gestures for Louise to come slightly closer to her, which Louise does. Jade then puts her finger up to her lips.

  JADE (cont’d)
Ssssshh! Here’s the thing. I’ve got you all to myself tonight, and Tyrone doesn’t. So there! You know, I remember all the times you tried to take my boyfriend away from me.

Jade begins to fake cry, but then suddenly stops.

   JADE (cont’d)
I wanted to kick your damn head in!

Jade turns to Fliss.

   JADE (cont’d)
Didn’t I? No wait. You weren’t there at the time. But Tamera, she’d know. I miss her!

Fliss tries to change the subject.

   FLISS
Jade, are you hungry? Do you want me to cook something for you?

JADE
No I’ll do it.

Jade turns on the oven and finds it hilarious. She then turns the oven off and finds that hilarious. Once again, Jade turns the oven on, and yet again she finds that to be hysterical. Jade turns to Louise.

    JADE
Guess what? I used to really hate you.

LOUISE
And now?

JADE
Well now I don’t.

LOUISE
That means a lot to me Jade.

JADE
And that is from the bottom of my heart. I really, really do- not hate you anymore.

LOUISE
That’s good to know Jade.

Louise hears her mobile ring. She takes the mobile out of her pocket to see the caller id. and hastily exits the kitchen.

  FLISS
Jade, I think I better help you to bed.

Fliss escorts Jade out of the kitchen.

35 INT.  OUTSIDE JADE’S KITCHEN - NIGHT 35

Louise is speaking on her mobile.

   LOUISE
Tyrone ended his party early, huh?

INTERCUT WITH

36 INT.  TYRONE’S KITCHEN - NIGHT 36

   LEROY
Yeah. The mood he was in tonight, I’m not sure he’s even ready to get married tomorrow.

ON LOUISE

   LOUISE
Why are you telling me this?

ON LEROY

   LEROY
As you know I’ve been into Jade for years. Well she just blew me off for the last time. I no longer care how much she gets hurt by your constant efforts to get at Tyrone. In fact, I’m gonna help you out, just like I used to.

ON LOUISE

Louise is curious.

LEROY (cont’d)
Tyrone’s so not in a party mood that he’s asked Jordan to get everyone to leave within the next 20 minutes.

ON LEROY

Leroy looks at his watch.

   LEROY (cont’d)
Give it an hour and you can have him to yourself.

ON LOUISE

  Louise smiles.

37 INT.  EMMA’S LIVING ROOM - NIGHT 37

EMMA is holding her baby boy MAX. She takes him out of the room and then returns to Jonathan.

  EMMA
Ok you’ve seen your son. Now you can go get on with your life until you feel like coming round again.

Emma begins folding some baby clothes.

   JONATHAN
  Emma, don’t be like that.

   EMMA
How do you expect me to be? You’re a lousy boyfriend, and you suck as a father! You make no time for me, or your son.

JONATHAN
I’m here now.

EMMA
But when will you be back?

JONATHAN
Maybe if you actually cared about me, I’d wanna be here. All you ever do is bitch about what I don’t do!

EMMA
Fine. Maybe we should arrange things so you only have to see your son, and not have to see me.

JONATHAN
Sounds like a good idea.

Jonathan walks away from Emma who stops folding baby clothes.

   EMMA
Good. I don’t wanna see you either!

Jonathan stops and turns back to Emma who is beginning to hold back some tears.

   EMMA (cont’d)
Before we had Max, I never had to ask when you were coming over because you were always here.

Emma continues to hold back her tears as she moves closer to Jonathan. She locks eyes with Jonathan.

  EMMA (cont’d)
You would look at me like I was the most beautiful thing in creation. And seeing that in your eyes, I really did feel that beautiful.

JONATHAN
I still feel that way about you Emma. It’s just hard dealing with change. I’m not used to being a father, and I don’t know if I can live up to your expectation of me. Look, I gotta go.

Emma finds it harder to hold back the tears as she watches Jonathan leave. Emma slowly sits on her bed. She tries to hold back her tears one more time. Then Emma drops her head into her hands and bursts into tears.

38 INT.  TYRONE’S BEDROOM - NIGHT  38

The clock on the table says 11:02pm. Jordan and Leroy are ready to leave Tyrone.

  JORDAN
Hope you feel better by tomorrow Tyrone.

  LEROY
(hiding what he is really thinking)
Yeah. Me too.

   JORDAN
You’ll be ok. See you first thing in the morning.

    TYRONE
Night guys.

Jordan and Leroy leave and head

DOWNSTAIRS

to the

39 INT.  TYRONE’S HOME - FRONT DOOR - NIGHT 39

Jordan opens the front door and walks out. Leroy follows him, but leaves the front door ajar when he closes it.

40 INT.  TYRONE’S BEDROOM - NIGHT  40

Tyrone looks out the window.

ANGLE: CLOCK

Clock states 11:04pm.

ON TYRONE

Tyrone walks to the nearby table and looks at a photo of him and Jade. Tyrone then looks at the clock. Afterwards he sits on his bed and takes his socks off. He then stands up and walks around the room, as he takes his top off.

  LOUISE O.S.
Boy have I missed that body!

Tyrone turns towards the voice.

Camera pans out to reveal Louise. She is wearing a provocative outfit comprising a top with a low neckline and  blouse.

  TYRONE
Forget it Louise!

  LOUISE
You missed mine I bet.

  TYRONE
Louise, I don’t mean to be harsh, but you already know what it’s like to be pushed into something you don’t wanna do. Don’t push me.

Louise tries to hide the fact that Tyrone just verbally burned her.

  LOUISE
Except the situation here is that you want it more than you’re willing to admit.

TYRONE
I’m getting married tomorrow.

Louise brushes the back of her right hand against Tyrone’s left arm. Tyrone pulls away.

  TYRONE (cont’d)
Louise, aren’t you tired of being the other girl? The girl who may seduce the guy, but who will never have the guy love her.

LOUISE
I don’t mind being the fantasy girl but the truth is, you loved me once.

TYRONE
-But not again. You’re just not the one for me.

LOUISE
Neither is Jade. Leroy was telling me how you’ve been down all night. Maybe that’s your heart telling you you’re about to make a big mistake.

TYRONE
And that I should give you another chance, huh? Wrong! Anyway, I am happy with Jade. I do have something to thank you for though. After all, it was you who introduced me to Jade in the first place.

LOUISE
Biggest mistake of my life. D’you mind if I do something?

Louise walks over to the clock and changes the time so that it says 8:30.

   LOUISE (cont’d)
It is now 8:30 p.m. tomorrow. You are married to Jade- the girl of your dreams. No longer will you have to worry about other members of the opposite sex. You get to sleep with the same woman every night. How does it feel?

Tyrone looks down, uncertain. Louise moves closer to Tyrone and touches the palm of her hand against Tyrone’s cheek.

  LOUISE (cont’d)
How does this feel?

A beat.

  TYRONE
  Good but...

Tyrone pulls Louise’s hand away from his face.

   LOUISE
Why deny yourself of something that feels good?

Louise lifts Tyrone’s hands onto her shoulders.

  LOUISE (cont’d)
It’s ok. Be with Jade.

Louise turns to leave, but Tyrone pulls her back.

TYRONE
Louise, you can’t do this to me. Keep having me under your spell.

LOUISE
I know, which is why this is the very last time. You either want me or you don’t.

TYRONE
You were there when I grew up. You were the first girl I kissed and the first girl I made love to. You were there when I met Jade, and you were there when I graduated. And I guess I’m glad you’re here now.

LOUISE
Do you remember all the things that we did? Our secrets?

TYRONE
I’m not sure I ever stopped loving you.

LOUISE
So I guess this is the part where you show how much you’ve missed me.

A beat. Tyrone hugs Louise. The moment lingers. As Tyrone and Louise pull away, they look into each other’s eyes and slowly kiss. The kiss becomes more passionate. Louise pushes Tyrone onto his bed. She quickly pulls her blouse off. Tyrone then lowers Louise onto the bed.

ACT THREE

41 INT.  CHURCH - DREAM - DAY   41

CLOSE ON:

Tyrone’s face.

   TYRONE
  I do.

CLOSE ON:

Jade’s face.

   JADE
  I…

Jade turns to see her friends. Camera pans

WIDE

to reveal Emma, Jonathan, Leroy, Louise, Fliss and Jordan watching.

   JADE
   (uncertain)
  I…

CLOSE ON:

Jade’s shoulder. A hand touches her shoulder. Jade turns, as does the camera to

REVEAL

Tamera!

   TAMERA
Don’t worry Jade. We’re all here to support you in your happiness.

Tamera kisses Jade on the cheek. Jade turns back to Tyrone.

   JADE
  I do.

42 INT.  JADE’S BEDROOM - MORNING  42

Camera pans across the bedroom up to the bed where Jade is sleeping. The camera reaches Jade as she smiles and slowly wakes up. Jade leans forward and stretches her arms while she does a little yawn. Jade smiles to herself again. Jade hears a knock.

  JADE
Come in.

Fliss enters.

  FLISS
And how are you doing this fine morning?

  JADE
Fantastic. Fliss?

  FLISS
Yes Jade?

  JADE
It really is a fine morning, isn’t it?

43 INT.  TYRONE’S BEDROOM - MORNING  43

Tyrone is asleep next to Louise. Tyrone slowly wakes up. He looks over at Louise and suddenly remembers what happened the night before.

Jordan enters without knocking and leaves the door open.

  JORDAN
Morning Tyrone!

Louise wakes up. Jordan notices her.

  JORDAN (cont’d)
And Louise!

Jordan quickly closes the door behind him and he is angry.

  JORDAN (cont’d)
What the hell is going on here!

  TYRONE
Don’t you ever knock anymore?

   JORDAN
  What’s going on!

  TYRONE
It’ll take a while to…

  JORDAN
-Well explain quickly!

   TYRONE
I could say it’s not how it looks but…

   JORDAN
  -It is. I figured.

   TYRONE
Louise and I are in love.

Louise addresses Tyrone.

   LOUISE
  No we’re not!

Tyrone is a little confused. Louise gets out of bed and quickly starts to put on some clothes.

   LOUISE (cont’d)
I just wanted to see if I could finally get you. And it seems I did. Now I know I can have you when I want, I’m not sure I really want you anymore.

Tyrone is clearly shocked. Louise puts on her shoes and heads to the door. Tyrone gets out of bed. As Louise opens the door she finds Jonathan and Leroy are there.

  LEROY
Tyrone, your Mother…

Louise walks back into the bedroom.

  LOUISE (cont’d)
Well, it looks like the gang’s all here.

Jordan addresses Tyrone and Louise.

  JORDAN
How could you do this to Jade! Louise, over the past few years I thought you’d grown beyond this.

LOUISE
I did. I learned after what happened to me that it had changed me to something I knew wasn’t me. Just recently I discovered my true nature. It’s who I am. Get used to it Jordan!

TYRONE
Louise I…

LOUISE
It’s called nostalgia. I just needed to be reminded about what we used to have. Doesn’t mean I want that now.

Louise turns to Leroy.

  LOUISE (cont’d)
I guess my mission was a success cousin. I proved that Jade really isn’t Tyrone’s only love.

Leroy looks over at Tyrone. Jonathan looks at Louise disappointedly. Louise notices this and tries to ignore it as she leaves.

   JORDAN
I’m sorry Tyrone, but Jade has to know.

Tyrone rushes to Jordan. Jonathan and Leroy are watching what is going on.

   TYRONE
Jordan please don’t. It’ll break her heart.

   JORDAN
Tyrone I know I’m your best friend but I’m her friend too, and she has to know.

TYRONE
Then let me tell her.

JORDAN
Like six years ago when Jade and I caught you kissing Louise then. If you hadn’t been caught, you would have told her then huh?

TYRONE
She doesn’t have to know.

JORDAN
I’d know! I know you might be able to live with yourself knowing that, but I couldn’t!

Jordan takes his mobile phone out and exits.

Leroy is angry and moodily walks up to Tyrone.

  LEROY
So you’re who Jade thought was better than me.

Leroy turns away from Tyrone. He quickly turns back to give Tyrone a full power punch. The force of the punch knocks Tyrone to the floor. Tyrone inadvertently knocks down an ornament.

  LEROY (cont’d)
You arrogant asshole!

Tyrone is on the floor stunned, but after a few seconds needed to recover from the shock impact, he quickly stands up ready to hit back at Leroy. Leroy picks up the ornament and walks up to the wall looking at it.

  LEROY (cont’d)
I don’t think it’s broken. I can fix that.

Leroy smashes the ornament against the wall breaking it into several pieces. Tyrone immediately goes for Leroy but Jonathan comes between them.

  JONATHAN
Guys please!

44 INT.  JADE’S BEDROOM - MORNING  44

Fliss hangs up on her mobile, and talks to Jade.

   FLISS
That was Jordan. He was just updating me on some stuff. It’s reminded me of something I’ve been meaning to do for a long time, and really need to do right now.

JADE
Ok. Don’t be long.

FLISS
It won’t take long.

Fliss kisses Jade on the cheek. Fliss heads to the door.

ANGLE: FLISS

Camera quickly pans and focuses in on Jade.

45 INT.  TYRONE’S BEDROOM - MORNING     45

Jonathan is as before, holding back Tyrone and Leroy. Jordan enters. Tyrone backs away from Leroy and walks up to Jordan.

   JORDAN
I didn’t tell her. I felt too angry to tell her in the kindest possible way.

  JONATHAN
I’m gonna catch up to Louise. I think she and I
need to talk. Can you deal with this Jordan?

   JORDAN
  Sure.

Jonathan exits.

Jordan faces Tyrone.

JORDAN
I told Fliss though, and I guess it’s up to her how Jade finds out now. Lucky for you.

Leroy turns to Tyrone.

LEROY
Lucky for you. I swear if you ever hurt her again I’ll…

Leroy turns to Jordan.

   LEROY (cont’d)
Do you reckon I should talk to her?

   JORDAN
I think we should give Fliss time to deal with the
  matter as subtly as possible.

46 EXT.  STREET - MORNING    46

Fliss is marching like a Terminator. She sees Louise reach

47 EXT.  LOUISE’S HOME - MORNING   47

and decides now is the time to deal with Louise once and
for all.

ANGLE: LOUISE

Louise prepares to open her front door. Suddenly out of nowhere, Fliss  appears and pushes Louise hard against the outside wall of her home.

Suddenly Louise is rocked by

Russ pushing her against a wall.

49 EXT.  LOUISE’S HOME – MORNING  49

Let’s see if you’re a bitch who can handle being
  bitch slapped!

Fliss slaps Louise hard.

50 EXT.  ALLEY - NIGHT - PAST  50

   RUSS
  You know you want it.

Russ forces a kiss onto Louise.

51 EXT.  LOUISE’S HOME - MORNING  51

Fliss slaps Louise again, knocking her to the ground.

52 EXT.  ALLEY - NIGHT – PAST  52

Russ tries to put a hand on Louise’s chest.

   RUSS
  You deserve…

ON FLISS IN THE PRESENT

   FLISS
  -All you get!

ON LOUISE IN THE PAST

Louise lets out a scream.

ON FLISS IN THE PRESENT

  FLISS
  (with RUSS’ voice)
You’re not the one with the power this time!

Fliss kneels down to Louise on the ground and slaps her one last time. Louise is crumpled, beaten and crying.

Jonathan sees from a distance what has happened and runs to Louise’s aid. Jonathan turns to Fliss.

  JONATHAN
You did this?

  FLISS
You bet I did.

Fliss slowly walks away. Jonathan turns back to Louise and he bends down to hold her as she cries in his arms.

53 INT.  TYRONE’S BEDROOM - MORNING   53

Leroy goes to the bedroom door to leave.

  LEROY
Well I guess that’s it. I’m outta here.

   JORDAN
I’m sure you can try talking to Jade later or
  tomorrow.

   LEROY
Nah! She made her choice. Now she has to live
  with the consequences. Later Jordan.

Leroy leaves. Tyrone looks at Jordan.

   TYRONE
  I really messed up didn’t I?

   JORDAN
  Er, yeah!

   TYRONE
I think she needs to hear what happened from me.  Maybe I can…

   JORDAN
-Explain that you’re a damn fool?

   TYRONE
Explain that I’m a- Damn fool!

   JORDAN
I’m gonna talk to Jade myself later. Hopefully I can help to make her feel better.

   TYRONE
I hope you can, but for now it’s my turn to try. I could really use some courage right now.

Jordan takes out a bottle of water from his pocket, takes a pen and writes  courage on the bottle cap. Jordan offers it to Tyrone. Tyrone opens the  bottle and takes a sip of the water.

   TYRONE (cont’d)
Ok I’m ready. Wish me luck.

53 CONTINUED:      53

Tyrone leaves.

   JORDAN
   (to himself)
  Good luck.

54 INT.  LOUISE’S LIVING ROOM - AFTERNOON  54

Jonathan puts a cotton pad up to Louise’s eye. Louise takes the pad and  holds it to her eye.

    LOUISE
Remember when we went to that fairground and I
  felt really terrible so I…

    JONATHAN
  You threw up.

    LOUISE
I kinda feel the same way now.

    JONATHAN
  Please don’t.

    LOUISE
What if I promise not to throw up on your face, this
  time?

    JONATHAN
  The good old days huh!

    LOUISE
Yeah. Thanks for being here. Thank you for being
a friend. Probably the last one I have left.

    JONATHAN
Well, you need a friend, I am one, so I guess that
works out well. But… as a friend, it means I get to
  tell you the truth.

    LOUISE
  Don’t start.

    JONATHAN
I have to be honest with you. I am your friend after
  all, right?

  LOUISE
Look, I don’t mean to get all moody while you’re  getting all mushy, but I don’t need to hear this  from you.

   JONATHAN
Do you have to spell it out to me like that? You  treat me like I’m dyslexkik!

Louise smiles.

   LOUISE
It’s dyslexic.

   JONATHAN
That’s what I said.

Louise smiles again.

   JONATHAN (cont’d)
Do you realise you ruined lives today?

Louise stops smiling.

   LOUISE
So sue me.

   JONATHAN
Didn’t you ever get bored of the same thing-  constantly trying to get Tyrone? You trying yet  again, feels like a movie sequel or something.

   LOUISE
Well the thing about movie sequels is you can’t  please everybody.

   JONATHAN
You didn’t please anybody today. And as for when  you told Jordan about that true nature crap well  that’s crap. Why are you trying to ignore the  person you’ve become? You should learn from  who you were, but not embrace it as much as you  did.

Louise stands up.

   LOUISE
I think it’s time you left.

Jonathan stands up. Louise escorts Jonathan to the

ANGLE: FRONT DOOR

Louise opens the front door. Jonathan steps out but then faces Louise.

         JONATHAN
This is it Louise. I’m not trying anymore after this. I  already think Tyrone, Jade, Jordan and Fliss want  nothing to do with you. To think that at one point, I  thought I loved you. If you lose me as a friend,  who will you have left?

   LOUISE
Me!

Louise slams the door in Jonathan’s face.

Louise walks to the living room but then rushes back to the front door and opens it. Jonathan is still there.

  LOUISE (cont’d)
You loved me?

   JONATHAN
It was years ago. I got over it because I fell in love  with Emma but… wow, I can’t believe I said that. I  love Emma!

Louise smiles.

   JONATHAN (cont’d)
Anyway, I had this vision of who you could become. It was something magnificent. And you actually became it. At least I thought you did. But I guess it was just a stupid fantasy.

   LOUISE
It’s not a fantasy. I did change for the better.

   JONATHAN
Fine, then tell me all about the real you.

Louise invites Jonathan back into her home. Leroy arrives.

   LEROY
Mind if I join you?

Jordan arrives.

   JORDAN
Mind if I do too?

   JONATHAN
Don’t be too harsh on Louise guys.

   JORDAN
I just came to update you Jonathan. Since you’re  all here I might as well tell all of you though. Fliss  told me what she did to you Louise. Something I  did not agree with by the way, and I’m truly sorry  about that.

Louise looks down.

   JORDAN (cont’d)
Anyway, Fliss was on the way to Jade’s when she  called. She’s very stubborn and intends to tell Jade.

   LEROY
And what do you see in Fliss, Jordan? Apart from the obvious two things.

Jordan ignores Leroy

   JORDAN
I just told Tyrone, so maybe he can get there first  and give his version of what happened.

   LOUISE
Maybe I should…

JORDAN                JONATHAN                LEROY
     NO!                 NO!                          NO!

57 INT.  JADE’S  HOME - FRONT DOOR - AFTERNOON  57

Tyrone turns to his left to see Fliss standing there with her arms folded.

ACT FOUR

58 INT.  JADE’S BEDROOM - AFTERNOON   58

Jade enters, followed by Tyrone and Fliss. Jade faces Tyrone.

  JADE
I guess it’s time we talked. Alone.

Jade looks at Fliss.

   FLISS
Fine! I’ll be outside if you need me.

Fliss abruptly hits Tyrone round the back of the head. Tyrone is stunned.

   FLISS (cont’d)
  Oops! My bad.

Fliss exits.

   TYRONE
Why did you bring me up here? We could have talked downstairs.

JADE
This is the room where we started planning our life together in. Might as well be the one we end it in.

TYRONE
Jade I’m…

JADE
-Sorry. Yeah, I know. Like always. So is Louise the one for you?

  TYRONE
It seems not.

JADE
And you jeopardised everything on one night with her. Was it worth it?

TYRONE
No.

JADE
This is it for us Tyrone. We’ve constantly broken up and returned back to each other. Not this time.

TYRONE
Jade please!

JADE
No. And we’re not gonna get a big emotional farewell either. For 6 years I gave you my heart, body and soul. Now all you get is goodbye.

Jade grabs Tyrone’s arm and escorts him to just outside her bedroom door. She the takes off her engagement ring and gives it to Tyrone.

  JADE (cont’d)
This is the only Jade you get to keep.

Tyrone begins to feel the hurt.

  JADE (cont’d)
I actually promised myself something a few days ago. I promised myself that today would be the best day of my life. Well it is because I finally get to say- Get Out!

Jade slams the door in Tyrone’s face.

ANGLE: TYRONE

Tyrone looks at the ring.

   TYRONE
   (to himself)
  Jade.

59 INT.  LOUISE’S LIVING ROOM - AFTERNOON  59

ANGLE: JORDAN

Jordan hangs up his mobile.

He looks at Louise, Jonathan and Leroy who are assembled around the sofa.

JORDAN
It was Tyrone. That’s it. It’s over.

Louise and Leroy look down. There is a moment’s silence. Jonathan decides to break the silence.

  JONATHAN
I guess it shows you really have to appreciate being with those around you.

Jonathan stands up.

   JONATHAN (cont’d)
There’s somewhere I have to be.

   JORDAN
Yeah. Me too. I’m gonna go talk to Jade.

Jordan and Jonathan exit. There is an awkward silence between Louise and Leroy until

  LEROY
You know this is all your fault.

  LOUISE
No way. You put pressure on Jade.

  LEROY
You’re the one who wanted to have Tyrone to yourself.

LOUISE
-For one night.

  LEROY
Well I actually loved Jade.

  LOUISE
Please.

  LEROY
You don’t even know what you’re talking about.

  LOUISE
Like you do.

  LEROY
Whatever.

60 EXT.  PARK - AFTERNOON  60

Jade is sitting on the grass with Fliss. Jordan walks up to them.

   JORDAN
Hi. Fliss, can I talk to Jade alone?

Fliss stands up.

   FLISS
Earlier, Jade threw me out of her bedroom. Now you’re throwing me out of the park?

Jordan kisses Fliss.

   JORDAN
  I love you.

Fliss is immediately convinced.

   FLISS
  K. Catch ya later Jade.

Fliss walks off. Jordan sits by Jade.

   JADE
How did you know I’d be here?

   JORDAN
Tyrone told me a long time ago that it’s where you and he first kissed. How are you doing? Stupid question!

  JADE
No. You’re a friend. Friends always support each other. Guess what that makes Louise.

JORDAN
Not your friend.

  JADE
It all feels like a nightmare- something that I should be waking up from any second. It’s the same way I felt when Tamera died. I want to go back to when Tamera was alive, and Tyrone and I were truly in love. Everything was so clear. The whole thing is my fault.

60 CONTINUED:   60

JORDAN
How do you figure that out? You’re just a victim of Tyrone’s choices.

JADE
I mean Tamera. The fact that she’s dead. Guess I got what I deserved. I had this fantasy that Tyrone and I were really happy, and that I was his only love. And because of that I needed everything in my life to be perfect, whether it be Christmas or my Birthday.

Jade moves closer to Jordan to explain.

   JADE (cont’d)
On my Birthday I wanted a cake from Tamera and I insisted she get it to me before I went out with Tyrone.

Jade is suddenly crying.

   JADE (cont’d)
I pushed her into it and she was rushing to get there in time. If Tamera hadn’t been rushing because of my so-called wannabe perfect life with Tyrone, which as it turns out wasn’t that real to begin with, she’d be here now. That’s how it’s my fault! It’s my fault!

JORDAN
It’s not your fault. Tamera cared about you. She wanted you to be happy.

JADE
Had I known Tyrone and I would end as we did, then I would never have had this perfect dream in my head. The dream that led me to pushing Tamera so much that she ended up dying because of me.

JORDAN
No one knows what will happen. I love Fliss, but I don’t know if we’re meant to always be together.
And I remember Tamera, and she didn’t just want you to be happy with Tyrone. She wanted you to be happy in general. She wanted to be there when you were.

JADE
-And now she’s not.

JORDAN
-But she’d still want you to be happy.

   JADE
  I don’t know if I can be.

   JORDAN
Tamera was willing to make it happen so that you were happy. Now you can return the favour by making it happen yourself. So Tyrone isn’t the one. Well now is the time to go search for the real one.

Jordan hugs Jade.

61 EXT.  PARK - ELSEWHERE - AFTERNOON 61

Emma is wheeling baby Max back and forth in his pram. Jonathan approaches and Emma notices him. Jonathan accidentally trips. Emma grabs a camera from the back of the pram and takes a picture of Jonathan. Emma laughs.

  JONATHAN
That’s not how I intended to start this conversation. Are you still upset with me?

EMMA
I only get upset when I think you don’t love Max and me.

JONATHAN
Emma, I know I haven’t been around much lately, but I’ve had my reasons. And none of those involve not loving you and Max. I’ve been trying to get myself settled so I can offer you more than I have. I got a call this afternoon and I’ve got a job.

EMMA
That’s it? You haven’t been coming to see us because you hadn’t sorted out a job?

JONATHAN
I was ashamed.

EMMA
You have nothing to be ashamed of Jonathan. I know who you are. It’s the person I fell in love with. All I’ve wanted is for you to be in our lives. I knew that you would keep trying, and that eventually you would get there.

JONATHAN
It’s just so tough. I look back at what has been going on lately. Today was meant to be Tyrone and Jade’s wedding. Louise messed it all up, and all I could do was give her a hard time about it. Not realising that she has as much right as Jade to love the man of her dreams. It’s a perfect example of how I don’t know the right thing to do. Maybe if you were there I could have made a difference, because as well as being beautiful, you’re always right.

EMMA
I’m always right? Jonathan I’m not. I’m just trying to figure things out. I feel like I could lose you and I don’t know what to do about that. I shout at you because I want you to stay. I need you to stay. I know I haven’t known Tyrone and Jade for as long as you have, but for the longest time they had the most perfect relationship, and yet they still didn’t work out. Despite all our problems, we’re still here together, and I want us to always be together. I want Max to grow up with you as his father… so he can find out where he gets that big nose.

Jonathan laughs.

   JONATHAN
Just as long as he knows where he gets those amazing eyes from.

Emma smiles.

   EMMA
See. He may have a real big nose that sticks out, but he’ll also have beautiful eyes.

JONATHAN
So beautiful it hurts to look at them.

Emma locks eyes with Jonathan, then turns towards Max. Emma lifts Max out of the pram into her arms.

  EMMA
See that Max. You’re beautiful.

Emma laughs. Max makes a noise. Jonathan looks at Max.

  JONATHAN
You really are…

Jonathan turns to Emma.

  JONATHAN (cont’d)
…beautiful.

Jonathan kisses Emma on the forehead.

   DISSOLVE TO:

62 EXT.  ROAD - FUTURE - DAY   62

Camera very slowly pans along the side of the road.

   JORDAN V.O.
Four more years had passed, and because of the incident with Tyrone and Jade, most of us had grown apart. I’d learnt that people hug, they exchange promises and they make plans, but over time, most of it fades. Much is forgotten, and much is lost.

63 EXT.  BASKETBALL COURT - FUTURE - DAY  63

Tyrone is shooting hoops in business attire.

   JORDAN V.O.
Like Louise had done with Tyrone, I began to feel nostalgic and tried to arrange a reunion but no one showed. However I had pretty much maintained a friendship with both Tyrone and Jade.

64 INT.  NIGHT-CLUB - FUTURE - NIGHT  64

Jade is dancing.

   JORDAN V.O.
But neither of them wanted to see each other again.

65 INT.  TRAIN - FUTURE - DAY  65

Louise flirts with a guy in her carriage.

   JORDAN V.O.
I’d simply lost contact with Louise…

66 EXT.  COURTHOUSE - FUTURE - DAY  66

Leroy walks into the Courthouse.

   JORDAN V.O.
…and Leroy didn’t show because he had to go to court. Something about sleeping with an underage girl.

67 INT.  LIBRARY - FUTURE - DAY   67

Fliss is typing on a computer.

   JORDAN V.O.
It also became apparent that Fliss wasn’t the one for me, so I didn’t really expect her to show either.
Of all of us it seemed that Jonathan was the only one to find his true only love, with Emma.

68 EXT.  PARK - FUTURE - DAY  68

Camera pans slowly cross the park to where Jonathan and Emma once  stood.

   JORDAN V.O.
Jonathan continued to be a good father to Max too. And although Emma died in the train accident, she died, feeling proud that she’d helped Jonathan be who he could truly be and a wonderful father to Max.

Camera reveals Jonathan playing football with his five-year old son Max.  Jonathan is the goalkeeper while Max takes penalties.

   JORDAN V.O. (cont’d)
Looking back on the life that Jonathan and Emma had together I feel that nothing is more beautiful than real life. Looking back on what happened between Tyrone and Jade, I feel that nothing is harder than real life. Having witnessed Jonathan and Emma’s love first hand, I found them to be an inspiration. I felt that inspiration when Tyrone and Jade were together and I feel it whenever I see happy couples.

69 EXT.  ROAD - FUTURE - DAY   69

Camera pans along the side of the road. Camera notices a coach and  follows it.

   JORDAN V.O.
I now know in my heart, where love belongs, that I
too, will find the girl I’m meant to be with.

70 INT.  COACH - FUTURE - DAY   70

Camera pans from the front of the coach to the back where it finds  Jordan. A girl looks at a thoughtful looking Jordan.

   GIRL
You look like you’ve had a pretty long journey.
  Mind if I join you?

Jordan locks eyes with the girl.

71 EXT.  ROAD - FUTURE - DAY 71

Coach continues along the road.

    BLACK OUT.
