The Star Trek Encyclopedia
This is not a crazed-fan exact replica of the official "Star Trek Encyclopedia" publications, and neither is it a copy of any of the numerous fan-created encyclopedia websites of the Star Trek universe. Rather, the topics in my encyclopedia comes from the Star Trek games of my selection. Sometimes, various missions in the games requires referring to the starship's computers (usually the USS Enterprise) to search for information or clues necessary for the completion of that particular mission, and many entries are avaliable for viewing. So, I thought that I would catalog the entries here for everybody's reference, especially since some of the entries are just extra information written into the game by the programmers, information that does not serve any particular purpose in the game and are apparently written there just for fun. And because there are so many Star Trek games, what's better than to consolidate the information so that literally, everything's here.

Most of the entries presented here would be just as they were displayed in the games, but as a formality, I shall include events from the games as well as additional information from the official "Star Trek Encyclopedia" so as to make the various entries look more complete. Apart from only the computer entries, other elements such as characters, items and events within the games themselves would similarly be included in the Encyclopedia, although emphasis would be placed on presenting the computer entries first. Sometimes, certain entries may even be at odd's with the official version as stated in the "Star Trek Encyclopedia". Any such discrepencies or other remarks would be stated along with the entry in italics.

Star Trek: 25th Anniversary (1991) Star Trek: Judgment Rites (1995) Star Trek: Starfleet Academy (1997)
For the Encyclopedia, I have used information from the two Star Trek games, "Star Trek: 25th Anniversary" and "Star Trek: Judgment Rites", as a basis from which to expand upon. As an example of how tedious the task of gleaming information from the USS Enterprise's computer can be, entries can only be presented when the first three letters of the entries match, and thus in order to obtain all avaliable information from the computer, one literally have to type from 'aaa', 'aab', ... all the way to 'zzy' and 'zzz', and writing down the information in the process. I didn't really do this, someone else on the Internet tried to do so and published an index list which was not really in alphabetical order, and as I discovered, not that complete either. Nevertheless, the list was a useful reference for me to look for the information.to begin my research.

From my last count the number of computer entries in both the disk and CD-ROM versions of
25A were the same (at 183 entries). However, it was only recently when it came to my attention that the number of computer entries in both the disk and CD-ROM versions of JR were different as many of the original entries in the disk version have been removed, and the only way for me to determine this for myself was to reinstall my disk version of JR. Amazingly, I was able to recover my disk version of JR, which had been kept in storage for years and had grown moldy. After manually cleaning each disk and correcting a run-time error in one of the decompression programs, I was able to install the game once again! When I hacked into one of the data files, I found that there were actually 427 computer entries, and immediately decided that it would have been too tedious for me to actually replicate all 427 entries on my website. Instead, I decided to include the computer entries from the CD-ROM version of JR (which has a lesser number of 230 entries), although I did include a number of entries from the disk version in order to explain certain elements within the computer entries from the CD-ROM version.

For now, the Encyclopedia would contain information from the above two games, as well as some information from
"Star Trek: Starfleet Academy". For further expansion, information from the other games as well as from the various Star Trek television series themselves would also be included. In both games the computer entry for "USS Enterprise" states that the starship was on its fourth out of its five-year mission of exploration, which should rightfully place 25A and JR in 2268 or 2269 or even during the peroid 2268-2269. For simplicity, I regard 25A as having occured in 2268, and JR occured in 2269, especially since the end of JR seems to indicate that the USS Enterprise completed its five-year mission shortly thereafter. Therefore, the information in the Encyclopedia would only be as recent as 2269 in the Star Trek universe. Should there be a need to update any entry to include information from the various series (such as TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY or ENT), I shall append the entries as I see fit.
