STOLEN TYPEWRITERS and Related Stories is a great little work that has had many collectors waiting to discover if they have examples in their collection that have been reported stolen. The really interesting part of this story, is many of the typewriters were reported stolen in the early 1900's.

Mike discribes this book as, "A lifetime of articles and data on this interesting topic"

This book is about 50 pages in sizes and the work of a great investigator and author, Michael A. Brown.

Priced is $35.00. Postage to U.S. mailing address. Outside the U.S., please add $7.00 postage to the $35.00

Hi all typewriter buddies,

GREAT NEWS: The book that I have labored so hard on is now available! Many of you have already mailed checks and money and I THANK YOU for your support of this project.

Hopefully many more will order this item now (limited printing) and the books will be mailed at the start of next week.

The new book is titled: Typewriter Row: A walking tour of Lower Broadway.

It is a comprehensive study of all the known typewriter sales offices in and around Broadway. This is mostly all new research, and is chock full of pictures (some rare photographs), and old ads.

Also included is a 4-page spreadsheet (with over 150 entries) listing the known dates and locations of all the old typewriter sales companies in Lower Manhattan and vicinity, and when they were at a certain location.

Additionally there are detailed (Atlas plate) maps to help guide the reader.

The book costs $20 plus $3 postage (North America) and $7 postage elsewhere. (Trust me...It's a bargin!)

The book was originally set to be about 45-50 pages.

The good news for you is that it grew to nearly 90 pages and the price has stayed the same as quoted. I need to sell a lot of copies to recover me large expenses on this project.

So please send in your order form and payment now. I feel certain that you will be fully satisfied, and hope you will treat yourself to a really neat item.

I have just finished Mike Brown's new book "Typewriter Row". It's like going on a great typewriter hunt throuugh time! Mike's information on the companies alone makes it worth the read, from the five pages of detailed histories of the locations of all the companies at the beginning to the tour of the off-Broadway typewriter sites at the end. This information, combined with the incredible photographs, maps, and ads, makes the book immense just plain fun. The book's a real keeper as both a must have reference and as a guide. For me, reading it is the next best thing to taking it with me to New York to see the row. Peter Weil, DE

The book is really great, fascinating, and another of your real contributions to the world of TW collecting. Rob Blickensderfer, OR

I received my copies of the book the other day, and am very pleased with them. I bought one for myself and another for a friend. Both the photos and text are very interesting, and it if obvious a lot of work has gone into the book's preparation. I heartily recommend it to all who are interested in old typewriters. I hope to see some of those sites in person someday. John Ziegenhagen, OH

Just wanted to recommend Mike Brown's new self-published book, TYPEWRITER ROW.

He's put together an interesting and entertaining piece of typewriter history and urban history, taking the reader on a walking tour of lower Broadway and providing lots of information about where the sales and management offices of many different typewriter manufacturers were located. Many of the buildings are gone, but a good number do survive (including the Underwood Building, right next to Ground Zero). Mike found some fantastic glass negatives from 1912-13 which really give you a glimpse into old New York.

I look forward to using this book on my own typewriter lover's tour of NYC someday. Sadly, though, Mike didn't find any Crandalls in the basements of these buildings -- or so he says! Richard Polt, OH
