These have been removed from the site on account of the fact that in the U.S.A. there are a number of unethical types who copy, glean, acquire and indeed often steal the writings of others in a desperate attempt to manufacture a mask of authenticity. This assists the maintenance of their styles of poseurs and wannabes. (Luckily such texts as did appear on site have been previously published in 1991 and are copyright.)
Indeed in the mid-1970s one American lady who had been staying with us for a number of days was caught in our private room copying material into her notebook. Needless to say her sojourn was cut short.
Often fragments of traditional texts are regurgitated as part of some convoluted and spurious proof of belonging to something British. When taking an overview of the material of certain U.S. groups, however, there are a thousand and one 'give-aways' why they are overtly Gardnerian oriented and most decidedly not Keltic traditionalists.
The heart of the matter is that people of this ilk with lack of sincere and decent motivation but with a blatant plethora of subterfuge would never be accepted into a Keltic family group under any circumstances. Furthermore our religious 'system' (for want of a better word) is not a commodity for export to foreign lands!
These ploys were in evidence, duly noted by many of us, in the early 1970s and still persist.
What is not realised is that all texts of Y Plant Don were composed by me, although containing certain inherited phrases in Middle Welsh. These latter are usually quoted with the occasional inaccuracy to trap the plagiarist!
Should some American Gardnerians or Alexandrians wish to make forays into the older British Mysteries (although what this has to do with their present homeland is unclear), then they should be honest about their origins and aims, attempting to make valid Inner Plane Cymreig contacts which will transmit such inspiration as will enable them to write their own texts - a rewarding exercise.
Unfortunately too many people are on a constant search because the forging of such contacts is hard work with no guarantee of immediate success.
Where can I find traditional material? Who will let me copy some rites? Who has seen an earlier copy of The Rede? Where is the earliest copy of Gardner's Book of Shadows? Who possesses it? Where can I find more spells? The list is laughably endless. Perhaps they have overlooked the maxim in The Gardnerian Charge: "If that which thou seekest thou findest not within thee, thou wilt never find it without thee," which is an idiomatic version of the Latin maxim: "Foras non ire, veritas in interiore homine habitat." (Go not outside; truth resides in the inner man.)
Having
said this, our texts are readily available to any sincere seeker who is
domiciled in the British Isles and wishes to observe the Keltic Festivals.
To these our apologies go for removing swathes of text from the website.
Contact us by leaving a message in the guestbook
and we shall be happy to post anything by ordinary mail. Unfortunately
we also have deleted our email address from site on account of certain
poisonous postings from America by those who feel aggrieved by our refusals
of material.
