Welcome to my Twirling Tips and Tricks page!

UPDATED -4-10-03-!!!! UPDATED

I have been twirling for almost 6 years. I was co-captain on my HS squad for 2 years, and I twirled on that squad for 3 years. I graduated from HS in May 2002, and plan on trying out at either the University of Alabama (Crimsonettes) or Mississippi State University in the Spring of 2004 [not enough time to prepare for '03 :(]. I have friends on both squads that can help me prepare. I'm more likely to try out at MSU, even though I'm attending U of A, My style of twirling is more MSU, b/c I was taught by the former Captain @ MSU for 2 Marching seasons. Aside from that, their current captain, Jamie Sewell, was really helpful in getting me information about their tryouts, they (MSU) have been really friendly about the whole thing, unlike U of A, which didn't even send me much information.

I've really always been fascinated with twirlers, and wondered, why aren't we as respected as other athletes? We combine the sport of baton with gymnastics and dance. We have to be very flexible and coordinated to twirl successfully.

On this site, I'll try to share alot of what I know about twirling. I don't claim to be an expert in twirling, I would say that my level of twirling is Intermediate to basic advanced for my age(b/c most twirlers do start young and I didn't..I started at 12 and then just for fun) But I can twirl pretty good for the time I've been twirling, despite never competiting, except at band competitions(always had superiors), and never have been taught anything by anyone except other twirlers on the squad and the former college majorettes that have choreographed our season shows.

On the pages of this site, I hope to share some of my most favorite tricks, one and two baton, of all levels of difficulty. Tips for Trying out to become a majorette, Tips for Great Performances, Prop Ideas for Tryouts and Shows, Music Ideas for Routines, Costume Ideas for Routines and Tryouts, Tips for Practice Clothes and Shoes and Practicing in General, Tips for Getting along with your teammates, Lots of Twirling Links,Some Inspiring Quotes and perhaps some Twirling pictures.

I hope you will enjoy your visit to my site, and will share this link with other twirlers you know!:) Please sign my guestbook so I'll know you've been here!

Best of Luck Twirling, Never forget to SMILE!

NOTE ALL THE BELOW LINKS ARE WORKING BUT NOT ALL HAVE ALOT OF INFO ON THEM .. PLEASE BE PATIENT!:)
