Formed as a militia company just before the secession of North Carolina. The Warren Light Infantry Guards were to become part of the 12th Regiment North Carolina State Troops as F Company. The 12th participated in some of the major campaigns in the Eastern Theatre of the war. The 12th was present at Sharpsburg,  Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, and Cedar Creek.

Company F of the 12th has been re-activated today and participates in living histories, parades, and battle re-enactments. Members come from Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina, but any one is welcome as long as you are able to make our events.
