1891 - Edward Maxwell Salvesen born (30.08.1891 – 25.04.1918)      engaged to Miss Kitty Peake

1895 - Fredrik Malcom Salvesen born (20.11.1895 – 21.12.1919)

1894 - Eleanor Salvesen born (21 Jun 1894 - 13 Apr 1980)         m. Leonard Harper Gow

1900 - Frances Isabelle Salvesen was born (24 May 1906 - 26 Feb 1986 )

1900 - 1905 - appointed Sheriff of Roxburgh, Berwick and Selkirk


1905 - February appointed Solicitor General for Scotland but resigned on being made Senator of the College of Justice, taking a seat on the bench as the Hon. Lord Salvesen

1906 - Mabel Alice Magda Salvesen born (24 May 1906 - 26 Feb 1986 )

1913 - as first president of the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, organised the shipping of 800 penguins to Edinburgh Zoo

1922 - Retired and made a Privy Councillor

1936 - Golden Wedding Anniversary (20.07.1936)

1939 - Isobel died on return from a cruise to the West Indies

1942 - died of kidney failure (23.02.1942)
Built a large shooting lodge on the moors (Aaseral - the hills above Mandal) to go with his Lorimer designed House in Mandal.
Interesting as an insight into his life and what was happening in Edinburgh during his lifetime is the following book that I was able to find a copy of in Leith library Edinburgh:  "Memoirs of Lord Salvesen", H.F. Andorsen (ED), Edinburgh 1949.
