VOLUME ONE  ISSUE ONE

This issue is dedicated to my puppy Dooby, who is no longer with me.  In November of 2001, I brought him to the Humane Society shelter since I was  homeless and feared I could not care for him properly.  I was told that he would very likely get adopted, as he was young and healthy.  I now consider this decision to be a tragic mistake.  Ten days after I brought him in, he was euthanized.  The pain of that memory haunts me nearly every day.

I have realized that there are too many dogs being lethally injected every day.  My goal is to see laws implemented on a nationwide basis that would restrict the needless death inflicted on our dog population.  America has the resources to reduce unwanted litters, build adequate shelters for homeless dogs, and educate the public about the necessity of caring for our canine friends.

I welcome all help in this crusade.

My first goal is to establish a non-profit organization that will facilitate in the design and construction of a multi-use dog "sanctuary" to be located in Molokai, Hawaii.
